Can you get pregnant using a condom no ejaculation at all.

Hi all,

Bit of a random backstory and please no judging. Basically I have a regular sexual partner of whom I do not use protection with. Last month my dates are as followed

Lmp 7th July to 11th july

Sex unprotected, 13th, 23rd, 25th. All of which were unprotected with ejaculation.

I then had a shameful experience where I had another sexual partner on the 28th. We used a condom and basically I wasn't feeling right about the incident so I asked him to stop after a minute or two (HE DID NOT EJACULATE AT ALL)

On the 6th August I got a positive pregnancy test.

Yesterday I had a scan which dated me as 6+0 weeks gestational age

Is this possible to be this guys or my regular sexual partner. Please no judgement I'm just very confused.

So going by your cycle length and your probable Luteal Phase then I’d say it’s almost certainly ‘regular guys’ baby.

You are likely to have ovulated 12-14 days prior to your missed period due date. The luteal phase is generally very consistent (it’s the bit before ovulation that varies) so basing it on this (that you would ovulate 12-14 days before your due period and less on your ovulation being 14 days after your last MP started which can vary) then it’s def regular guy.

There is an excellent dr called Toni Wescheller who writes so much about women’s fertility windows and cycles. Well renowned. Based on the above it’s your regularl guy.

@Austereorange is that going by the unprotected sex with regular guy on the 23rd and 25th which is day 17 and day 19 in the cycle. I was due on around the 4th August/ 5th August. I got a positive test on the 6th August I know that's confusing 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

It is!! If I was asked to bet it was the 23rd that did it.

Going by my workings, it’s a bit more reliable to work back 14 days from your due period than 14 days forward from your last.

That’s because research shows that your ‘luteal phase’ (the time between ovulation and period) is far more consistent and without variation than the time between period start and ovulation. With me still? I know it’s confusing. If you had a 32 day period it’s more likely you’d not ovulate on day 14,
but more likely on day 18. MOST people’s LP is 14 days regardless of the time span before the ovulation.

So on a 28/29 day period it was LIKELY you ovulated day 14/15 (short luteal phases are not unknown but less likely) so that would make it that your ovulation was around 21st 22nd and therefore sex on the 23rd very much in the window of fertility.

@Austereorange I deffo thought the 23rd or 25th were very much the days in question. I think the early scan messed with my mind more if I'm being honest I'm definitely a lot calmer about things this evening I have a repeat scan in 2 weeks so I'm going to keep throwing it into the universe that the possibility of this being the 2nd guys is very very unlikely and hopefully my dates will differ by the matter of days. I know it sounds ridiculous but if I'm 3 or 4 days ahead then I can pin point exactly who's it is if that makes sense if I'm still showing as 3 or 4 days behind my calculations then that's when it becomes confusing and tricky.

Right now I'm just holding the hope that 6 weeks is incredibly small and hard to measure and the slightest mm can throw things off by a few days

@Austereorange also if I conceived on the 28th/ 29th like they are suggesting and I was due on, on the 4th or the 5th then that surely would mean my luteal phase was only 7 or 8 days??

You are right.

And to add weight to that theory if you have a luteal phase of less than 12 days it’s notoriously difficult to conceive (‘short LP’ is a thing). I had an LP of 11 days and needed fertility treatment for years to conceive.

Austereorange · 27/08/2020 22:03

Also, if it helps you....I knew exactly when I conceived my second DC. But the scan said a week different by a week. That’s because as other have said there is some leeway in that fertilised egg travelling down the Fallopian tube and implanting. They then said he was born a week early...but he wasn’t by my conception date!

I am sure it’s your main man.

@Austereorange I'm very aware of things most of the time I had a previous ectopic so I only have one tube so they have been monitoring me very closely. I had two sets of bloods the first on the 11th August my progesterone was 34 and my hcg was 697... 48 hours later my hcg was 1832 so it had more than doubled. I'm normally bang on with my body and knowing things so this all threw me out of sorts a bit.

Thank you for your help it really does make sense when you sit down and work things out properly. Fingers crossed for more accurate scan dates
