Swim up rooms

Can anyone recommend an all inclusive hotel with swim up rooms? Looking at next May all being well, 2 adults 2 children. It'll be our honeymoon so really want to treat ourselves to a swim up room. Looking at Greece but open to other Europe based options. Thanks!

Swim up rooms are a great idea but I would hate it if I spent hundreds of £ more on a swim up room for it to be in the shade all day

pinkpanther84 · 24/08/2020 10:27

Yes @Polkadotties that is definitely something I want to avoid

The ones we saw in our hotel were just tiny private pools off the terrace on the ground floor with everyone walking by and looking in. Didn’t seem worth the extra money to me.

Not swim-up but private pools - Atrium Palace in rhodes, went two years running as it was amazing and there is a super expensive suite with a massive pool if you're feeling really flush!

LtJudyHopps · 24/08/2020 10:33

Mitsis hotels do these - they have hotels in Kos, Crete, Rhodes. I’ve stayed at the Mitsis Faliraki Beach Hotel which definitely had them!

Blue domes in kos

superstar84 · 24/08/2020 10:34

We're going to the faliraki beach mitsis hotel next year!

Was it brilliant?! Did they kids enjoy it?

purplediva · 24/08/2020 10:34

We love the Atlantica Dreams Resort Rhodes

TommyShelby · 24/08/2020 11:14

Not Greece, but the Cornelia Delux resort in Turkey has stunning swim up rooms

LtJudyHopps · 24/08/2020 11:53

Haha I don’t have kids so can’t comment! But it’s practically on the beach so ideal for kids. It’s a lovely hotel for all ages, great service from the staff. Constantly walking round with things like watermelon slushes, Greek yogurt with fruit and honey. Loads of different restaurants all nice food. I highly recommend it.

Thanks I can't wait to go!!!

The Louis Grand on Glyfada Beach, Corfu has lovely sunny swim up rooms. However we have stayed there in June and the water was a bit on the chilly side, but not enough to put us off. Very warm in October,
Super food, rooms and drinks, charming staff but very isolated if that puts you off. We loved it.

Airfixkitwidow · 24/08/2020 12:09

I came back yesterday from the Atlantica Portobello Royal in Kos. If you ask for a ground floor pool view room you are pretty much guaranteed to be less than a couple of metres from one of the 14 pools. Food was good and the gelateria was magnificent.

Lardlizard · 24/08/2020 12:22

Hmmm some interesting places to google on here

iknowimcoming · 24/08/2020 12:32

Also the ikos chain are supposed to be amazing - have a friend who raves about them ££££ though

mylittleyumyum · 24/08/2020 12:36

Gouves Waterpark Village, but there's nothing luxurious about other people swimming and playing directly outside your room....

TessTackle · 24/08/2020 12:37

The Lavris hotel in Gouves, Crete has the most beautiful swim up rooms and not too pricey at all.
If you go during the high season there’s loads to do in the area too.

bestbefore · 24/08/2020 12:37

I've not stayed here but book marked it - lots of private pools - on Tenerife www.barcelo.com/en-gb/royal-hideaway-corales-suites/

bestbefore · 24/08/2020 12:38

(Jet2 holidays have rooms there)

FizzyPink · 24/08/2020 12:39

Yes definitely check out reviews on TripAdvisor for advice on the best rooms. I’m quite militant in reading everything before booking anywhere and you’d be surprised how often people have booked swim up rooms to find they’re shaded all day or in a bizarre location at the back of the hotel or somewhere you wouldn’t want to sit all day

notheragain4 · 24/08/2020 12:39

Blue Lagoon Village Kos

Littlegoth · 24/08/2020 12:40

Not Europe but Recommend Anantara (The Palm) in Dubai. Not traditional all inclusive as in mainland Europe, but we got meal plan thrown in and drinks were pay per. Our room was swim up and we had an amazing time.

ChipsAndKetchup · 24/08/2020 12:48

Ikos Oceania in Greece is just beautiful. No idea if they have swim up room but I'd be amazed if they didn't. It's just stunning.

TeenPlusTwenties · 24/08/2020 12:59

What's a swim up room?

One where you can step from inside into the pool?

Shardaw · 24/08/2020 13:18

Look up King Evelthon in Paphos. Fantastic hotel and fab food.
