What do The Borrowers take in your house?

For me it's superglue. It doesn't matter how much I buy, the tubes just vanish!! What do they whip from you?

(If you don't know who 'The Borrowers' are, a) shame on you and b) Google them!)

I agree with super glue. I'd always wondered where it went, and now I know!

Obviously socks.
Reading glasses
Everything that DH can never ever seem to find

Whatthebloodyell · 23/08/2020 09:13

Single socks.
Black pens.
Stamps.
Scissors.
The bicycle pump.
And they like to hide the remote control.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 23/08/2020 09:16

Hair bands. I buy millions and never have one. I suppose they mist be useful to the borrowers so I’ll allow them those.

One single sock, I know it went in the wash, but it didn’t come out. Bothers me where it is.

EdwardsNewJumper · 23/08/2020 09:23

Scissors
camera chargers

I also really want to know what happened in the lost ironing board thread. Do you think that poster found the ironing board in a really obvious place she'd completely overlooked and was too embarrassed to update us?

Whathappenedtothelego · 23/08/2020 09:25

Single gloves
Hair bobbles
Pens
Spare batteries and light bulbs
Hair brushes and combs
Either the lid or the tub, never both of Tupperware containers

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 23/08/2020 09:41

Pens
Eyeliners
Nail clippers and files
Phone chargers

halfbakedkate · 23/08/2020 09:43

Lately it's been face masks. Bought a pack of 10 reusable masks a month ago, now have one left.

CountessFrog · 23/08/2020 09:44

Hair grips
My favourite jeans
Knickers

LadyLovelyLockz · 23/08/2020 09:47

At the moment, they've got my Kindle, the paperback I was reading, a battery that was dropped in the porch and OH's flipflops. Little fuckers.

Natsku · 23/08/2020 09:48

Forks. I've lost so many forks - all but one from one cutlery set, plus several from others.

Sheepareawesome · 23/08/2020 09:48

Nail files. I must have dozens of them, left in every room and yet I can never find one. I suspect they are building a Fort made from nail files under the floorboards somewhere.

TeddyBeans · 23/08/2020 09:51

DS's first dummy - even when we moved out we didn't find it. He had it in his cot and then suddenly didn't 🤷‍♀️

Single socks mostly and a smoothie cup toy from DS's food truck...

DancingCatGif · 23/08/2020 09:53

Oh yes, my kindle charger, I can never find that.

And hair bobbles. I buy them endlessly and I never think I throw them away and yet where the fuck are they

CaptainCorellisPangolin · 23/08/2020 09:56

Knickers
Hairbands
Glasses (of spectacle variety)
Glasses (of drinking receptacle variety)

heathergem · 23/08/2020 10:23

@NoParticularPattern

Oh they have a list in this house. So far it consists of: two king size extra deep fitted sheets, 2.5 litres of unopened paint for the bathroom, a jumbo bath sheet (brand new, never even pre-washed!), a foot pump, several mugs, most of the teaspoons, two pear trees and a small carry on suitcase. What baffles me about the job is that all of those things were last put away by me. I can remember putting them away quite clearly, but not one of them is where they should be and none of them have turned up despite several years passing and almost every room in the house having been gutted and renovated. They have genuinely disappeared!
How can pear trees go amiss? That's baffling!
Cookerhood · 23/08/2020 10:33

Oh yes, lids of food containers. I wonder what they use them for?

Ishihtzuknot · 23/08/2020 10:35

Hair tyes! Especially on school days

Ishihtzuknot · 23/08/2020 10:35

*ties

Enoughnowstop · 23/08/2020 10:37

Teaspoons and socks.

bettsbattenburg · 23/08/2020 10:37

How can pear trees go amiss? That's baffling!

It's hiding under a large, genetically modified partridge.

Magpiecomplex · 23/08/2020 10:42

Vernier gauge in this house. No idea where it's gone!

Deathraystare · 23/08/2020 11:21

Everything!

Single shoes, single socks, passport, tweezers, nail clippers, hairbrushes, deodorant, moisturiser, lipstick, nail polish remover, knickers, bras, t shirts, pillowcases etc etc

My excuse is that I live in one room only but the Borrowers have really taken over. I am in the middle of a tidy up so will probably see the little people soon!
