Just waiting for DS2 to get ready and make his way to school to collect his results

He’s incredibly nervous as he needs 6 or above in English, Maths, History, PE and Science

I just want this to be over and for him to have the results

Anyone else waiting anxiously?

Yep, dd and I have to be there at 9 (leaving soon) I'm not as worried as I was when the algorithm was making the choice though!

She's already got her college place, shes just hoping shes passed maths so she doesnt have to resist (was predicted a 5/6)

maloofhoof · 20/08/2020 08:35

DD had hers emailed at 8am.
Even had going to school to collect her results taken away from her Angry
Results were as predicted but even though we're happy, I think she'll always be miffed she couldn't take her exams and that they won't feel real.

Waiting for ds2 to rise here. Got to drop him off at 9:30 and he will walk home.

Feeling very nervous🥺

Champagneforeveryone · 20/08/2020 08:37

We're leaving at 9.30, DS is tense though he should be ok.
TBH I just want it to be over Confused

ScarlettDarling · 20/08/2020 08:39

Yep, I'm waiting anxiously too. Ds is going in at 9.30, doesn't want us to go with him so I've told him to ring as soon as he opens the envelope!

pourmeanotherglass · 20/08/2020 08:45

DD getting the email at 9 i think. Hopefully she'll remember to come and show us before she videocalls all her friends.

AllThatGlistensIs · 20/08/2020 08:48

Email due to arrive around 9 here. DS is relatively calm, DH and I are beyond nervous!

ragged · 20/08/2020 08:56

Can't believe I'm on my 3rd DC to reach age 16 & this is first time I've ever gone to a Results day event. DC1: too lazy to go. DC2: DH took her.

Pretty sure will get results he needs, the agony this morning seems to be about how DS should dress. I have no opinions, it's all in his head!

U2HasTheEdge · 20/08/2020 09:01

My son was meant to have his emailed to him an hour ago.

Still waiting..

Gatekeeper · 20/08/2020 09:07

ds got his at 8am...did far better than expected as he had had v. poor m.h during mocks and his grades were dreadful Sad

ended up with 8 passes at 5/6 and a merit in BTech. Bloody relief.

CorianderLord · 20/08/2020 09:07

God I remember my results day. Brilliant day, so exciting.

EdwardsNewJumper · 20/08/2020 09:14

Google issues are affecting results emails. Email due in at 8am. Still waiting. Some of her friends have results. Most don't.

Anyone else having this issue?

School just issued a statement to say please be patient. It's so crap. Appreciate its Google so beyond school/gov control but again, no contingency plans to collect results.

EdwardsNewJumper · 20/08/2020 09:15

OP your DS is so lucky he can go to school to collect results!

GetUpAgain · 20/08/2020 09:18

My friends school has computer problems and the kids are all standing around waiting for their results Confused

GetUpAgain · 20/08/2020 09:19

(They do use Google classroom but wouldn't think that should matter)

Inkythemouse · 20/08/2020 09:19

Ds has just left to get his. I'm really hoping the grades reflect the hard work he put in after his mocks.

WitchSharkadder · 20/08/2020 09:21

We're going to collect DS's results at 11:30. He's unbelievably relaxed about the whole thing but I'm an anxious wreck. It'd be worse if we were waiting for the algorithm grades though as DS would be a prime candidate for downgrading, we were so relieved on Monday!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 20/08/2020 09:33

I am no longer nervous 😁. DS got good results - pretty much his original predictions. He's happy and he's got his college place.

Good luck to everyone.

CatEatCatWorld · 20/08/2020 09:34

Very relieved here 7s/8s and a 9. She's one of the top achievers and is going to be in the paper who!

Chicchicchicchiclana · 20/08/2020 09:37

Does anyone know - will they be told their teacher predicted grades AND the algorithm grades?

CatEatCatWorld · 20/08/2020 09:41

Chicchicchicchiclana, that would be interesting to see actually. Dd is in a very underprivileged school in a deprived area, her and 1 other girl have always been top since primary (the other girl got all 9s and 8s) so wonder how the algorithm would have fared.

noraclavicle · 20/08/2020 09:44

We were due results ‘from’ 8am but had the Gmail outage issue. Came through at 9.20. Not a stellar performance which is zero surprise but he’s got what he needed, thankfully!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 20/08/2020 09:45

@Chicchicchicchiclana

Does anyone know - will they be told their teacher predicted grades AND the algorithm grades?
DS hasn't and I would assume that will be the same across all schools for fairness.
Whataroyalannoyance · 20/08/2020 10:01

DD got hers, she got handed 1 set I presume the school had chosen the ones that gave the better result.
