Help please. Bleeding

I’m out with my family and have suddenly started bleeding. Period not due til 23rd. We are TTC and ovulation was around a week ago. The bleeding came on suddenly and is fairly heavy. Have phoned 111 and waiting for a call back but am going out of my mind with worry. Anyone have anything similar and what was the outcome? Blood is red/pink. No clots yet but had only just started when I last checked. Sorry to ask MN but have to spend time with family and put on a brave face so no time for googling.

Implantation bleed perhaps?

Lockdowners · 15/08/2020 16:56

It feels too heavy for implantation. Didn’t have any implantation bleeding with my first

I must be in the minority because I would literally put on a pad and carry on with my day/go home if I was uncomfortable. It wouldn't cross my mind to phone 111 for something like this. Unless you are soaking through a pad an hour or something like that.

I remember when I was ttc my periods would be early late and in time because it was just my body's way of messing with my head!! Are you In a lot of pain??

Could just be an early period xx

Lockdowners · 15/08/2020 17:14

Maybe I am overreacting. Definitely not a period. It’s a different colour- much more pink

So a whole load of fresh red blood has just appeared. Couple of small clots. This is a miscarriage isn’t it? Everyone asleep. Could do with a hand to hold.

OP posts:
Melabells · 15/08/2020 22:52

It could be a chemical ? The pink you were describing sounds like what I had at implantation. My best friend had heavy bleed that was he r implantation ( they thought because she had a c section not that long before) was your last baby a c section by any chance? Big hugs. I knows it's hard but I would go see a gp on Monday or take a test Monday morning? XDaffodil

Lockdowners · 15/08/2020 22:56

Thanks for replying. I did have a c section 2 years ago. I wish I could just go to sleep but am worrying too much. I know there is nothing I can do about it whatever happens but try telling my brain that!

If you ovulated a week ago then you would be implanting about now at the earliest.
A miscarriage at one week past ovulation wouldn’t really notice to be honest.

FlamingoAndJohn · 15/08/2020 23:00

Another question, how do you know you ovulated a week ago? Are you tracking in any way? Could you have ov early and this just be an early period?

Lockdowners · 15/08/2020 23:04

I was tracking via dates between periods so it’s not totally impossible that this is a very early period but it’s really not the kind of period I normally have and they are usually pretty regular.

TokyoSushi · 15/08/2020 23:07

Have you had a positive test? Otherwise it's possibly a chemical/odd period. I hope you're ok Flowers

FlamingoAndJohn · 15/08/2020 23:08

I know what you mean about it not being the same as a normal period. I had that once too. It was a different consistently and colour. It wasn’t anything bad though, I think it was just a regular period.

Lockdowners · 15/08/2020 23:09

Thank you. No I haven’t had a positive. I was impatient so had bought a first response and was going to test on Tuesday.

Ditto Sometimes the body is weird!
tiredanddangerous · 15/08/2020 23:09

It isn't a miscarriage if you haven't even missed a period. I wouldn't be worried.

Whathewhatnow · 15/08/2020 23:09

Have you had sex very recently??

Lockdowners · 15/08/2020 23:10

Thanks flamingo. Just feels really scary. I’ve never had irregular periods and for it to happen the day that implantation might occur seems like it is something sinister.

OP posts:
Lockdowners · 15/08/2020 23:12

We had sex last about 6 days ago (got a bit of sex fatigue after doing it every other day for a couple of weeks!)

OP posts:
Whathewhatnow · 15/08/2020 23:12

If so could be cervical erosion AKA kind of a bruise/abrasion. Obviously if very heavy bleeding or pain (immediate to womby type are or referred) or other odd symptoms then get checked out.

Whathewhatnow · 15/08/2020 23:15

Hmm.. 6 days. Not likely that then. Make sure to get checked with US if it carries on and is unusual for you. But I bet it probably will just be a freaky period. They do that to keep you on your toes.

whiplashy · 15/08/2020 23:19

agree with PP that I’d consider this a non event

Lockdowners · 15/08/2020 23:23

Thank you for taking the time to reply everyone. I’m hoping that I’m just being utterly ridiculous.

OP posts:
PurpleDaisies · 15/08/2020 23:29

This really doesn’t seem to have any indication to call 111 about.

Periods can be weirdly irregular. I’d use an app (or pen and paper) to record what’s going on and bleeding between periods should be investigated by your GP.

Obviously if things get worse, seeking more urgent medical help is warranted.

Penguin1612 · 15/08/2020 23:30

Unless you are soaking through a night pad every hour then you do not need medical attention and are wasting 111 time while genuine emergencies are kept waiting. The fact that you are TTC is nothing to do with it as you aren't pregnant to be having a MC. My periods changed for a few months earlier this year and although it was strange it really was just one of those things. If it keeps happening then book a smear test or regular gp appointment but i really don't think this is an emergency.

Ps sorry this sounds brutal, its hard to type this sort of advice nicely but i do mean it kindly x
