Please can anybody help me decide, keep looking at the Dulux, F&B and Valspar colour charts but nothing comes to me. I stupidly bought made to measure curtains and matching cushions before choosing a wall colour and I fear this is a mistake that will haunt me for a long time. 2 3 seater and cuddle chair which is 12 months old and I light charcoal the curtains I got were navy, seriously don't know what made me do it. I will attach the sample of the curtain fabric please help me mumsnet.

Thank you both!

I'm so invested in your colour choice! Getting some great ideas for my own living room too Smile

I’m having the same problem OP just thankfully without the deadline. I can guarantee I will leave it till the last minute to choose though. I’ve made the mistake in the past of buying 25 testers and overwhelming myself so this time I just got the ones I was fairly sure I really liked. I’m no better off Grin

Not sure if it helps as obviously light affects things massively but here are two testers I’ve done this week - ammonite on the left and skimming stone on the right. I’m now worried neither are grey enough to go with our grey sofa!

What did you go for op? I love the look of that peignoir next to that sofa, such a gorgeous colour scheme. We have a very similar sofa and have ammonite with wevet on the woodwork. I love ammonite, it's a really soft, pretty grey.

roundtwotooto · 13/08/2020 09:39

@tillythepony how does my ammonite compare to yours?

tillythepony · 13/08/2020 09:47

It looks a little darker but it could be because it's just a patch. In some lights mine looks the same colour as the whiter woodwork, really quite pale.

tillythepony · 13/08/2020 09:49

It's hard to get the right lighting but this is the ammonite next to a vase for contrast

Yes yours looks a definite grey next to that Vase doesn’t it. Thanks for that.

Maybe the plaster is affecting the colour of mine or something.

I still haven't picked a colour finding it all a bit stressful. The flooring in being laid first through the whole downstairs which will take until Monday/Tuesday so I have bought myself some time. I have Dulux Goose Down in the kitchen and dinning room and Dulux light grey (can't think of the name but know it when I see it) in the hall stairs and landing so really wanted something different in the living room. I have a Parma Grey tester pot and a Peignor one to try out first and if they're not right I will go back to B&Q.

I know how you feel OP. I’m trying to pick wallpaper and paint for my hall, stairs and landing. It’s flipping exhausting and I’ve gone goggle eyed! I’m actually seriously doubting that I’m going to get this sorted 😕

Geppili · 14/08/2020 14:10

Farrow and Ball Pointing. You can't go wrong!

Chewbecca · 14/08/2020 14:17

I’d go F&B calamine with navy and charcoal & oak floor, sounds perfect to me.

Catawaul · 14/08/2020 14:28

If the curtains are giving you regrets, get different ones! Worse things happen at sea.

roundtwotooto · 14/08/2020 14:40

I’m totally sick of it now OP.

I know I’m going to have to go to B&Q and buy an armful if testers but I really don’t want to. I thought I had it cracked with ammonite but it’s just not grey enough in my house. Dulux pebble shore looks like it might have the same problem. I might try F&B Dimpse. Does anyone have that?

TSSDNCOP · 14/08/2020 14:48

I would go with a very soft, chalky pink.

TSSDNCOP · 14/08/2020 14:52

F&B calamine or eggshell for instance
