Please can anybody help me decide, keep looking at the Dulux, F&B and Valspar colour charts but nothing comes to me. I stupidly bought made to measure curtains and matching cushions before choosing a wall colour and I fear this is a mistake that will haunt me for a long time. 2 3 seater and cuddle chair which is 12 months old and I light charcoal the curtains I got were navy, seriously don't know what made me do it. I will attach the sample of the curtain fabric please help me mumsnet.

As a PP said can you get some testers tonight? Paint them on and have a look first thing in the morning. Then go out and buy the paint whilst the decorators are getting everything ready. It’s best to be sure on the colour rather than have them paint the whole room and end up not liking it.

WhatsWhat456 · 12/08/2020 16:32

@IndiaPlace the first image is a no but I do like 2 and 3 which colours are those please. The two pink F&B colours mentioned above Setting plaster looks biscuit coloured to me on the chart and I can't do d the dead salmon colour.

Yes I can get testers tonight and nip out in the morning just don't want the workmen to think I'm taking the piss.

What colour is F&B Peignoir would you say? Pinky Grey?
I do like F&B Calamine, Sulking Room and Cinder rose on the colour chart.

Peignoir is lovely pinky/purple grey but I would definitely test it first, we painted a loft bedroom recently and it was a much stronger colour than I imagined.

Skimming stone is good - works with lots of colour combos

Henlie · 12/08/2020 16:39

What will be on the floor Op? Carpet? Wood?

Bb90 · 12/08/2020 16:42

Dulux denim drift, i have it as a feature wall with polished pebble on the others

WhatsWhat456 · 12/08/2020 16:42

Floor is currently laminate but is being changed to light oak engineered wood flooring. The job starts tomorrow the same company doing everything so not sure what order things will be done, having new solid wood skirting and door trims as well

Very pale pink is a great idea

WhatsWhat456 · 12/08/2020 16:45

I like Denim Drift @Bb90 ds had it in his bedroom but unfortunately it doesn't go with the curtains.

Peignor is a soft pink/grey. Sulking room pink can come up quite dark. I think a light grey / pink would work well or a soft white and then Accessorize with bright prints/ plants etc. Strong white from f&b is a very soft white/grey. I would avoid anything too “grey” as it’s becoming dated and can be a bit drab. Definitely get testers first try them tonight and see what they’re like in the morning. Dr orators will need to prepare the walls etc so you will have time to buy the paint in the morning

Henlie · 12/08/2020 16:47

Maybe get a tester pot of F&B Joa’s White. It’s a fairly neutral taupe, but will help bring your sofas and curtains together. Looks very good with navy. 😊

WhatsWhat456 · 12/08/2020 16:49

So far on the test list I have F&B Peignoir, Calamine and Cinder Rose although I'm not sure about Cinder rose looks purple on the chart but dusty pink in online images.

What did you go for OP?

WhatsWhat456 · 12/08/2020 16:52

Nothing yet @BeaUnder there is to much choice and I feel pressured witj workman coming first thing tomorrow so just can't decide.

OP posts:
BeaUnder · 12/08/2020 16:58

Could you ask them how long it will take them to prep the room tomorrow?

Don't want to add another colour into the mix but Navy goes really well with overtly olive.

WhatsWhat456 · 12/08/2020 16:59

B&Q is open until 8pm I just checked their website have no idea why I convinced myself it was 5pm so I have bought myself a few hours to decide on tester pots.

Another vote for polished pebble by dulux.

WhatsWhat456 · 12/08/2020 17:02

@BeaUnder what brand is that colour can't see it for looking.

HasaDigaEebowai · 12/08/2020 17:06

I have skimming stone as the background to my F&B wallpaper in the dining room. Its a really easy colour to live with. very muted and calming.

QueenCT · 12/08/2020 17:09

Polished pebble. V pale grey but a blue undertone so would work perfectly

hellswelshy · 12/08/2020 17:13

Love the colours IndiaPlace has posted! Let us know what you choose op Smile

goingtotown · 12/08/2020 17:18

Dulux Egyptian Cotton is neutral, goes with everything.

EmmaStone · 12/08/2020 17:32

Dulux Timeless is a beautiful creamy white, I've never been unhappy with it and when in doubt, I just use it.

Our living room has light oak floors, and I'm planning on replacing the current beigey brown sofa for navy, and have a beige and blue rug - I'm having a colour matched F&B Parma Gray in our living room (it's actually a blue with tiny grey hint in certain lights).

I need to paint my teenager's bedroom in 'Sulking Room' immediately! Grin
