Inspired by this buzzfeed article can you name a scene which has the perfect music with it that just makes it so memorable.

Mine has to be from Glee, where Blaine Anderson (Darren Kriss) sings Cough Syrup whilst Karofsky attempts suicide.

It’s hauntingly beautiful

maybelou agree with you about Who Wants To Live Forever. DH chose that for his funeral after seeing the film, my grandmother was horrified but it was perfect (his other choice was Enjoy Yourself by The Specials)
@PushyMeez my DSD has forever ruined this music for me. When its on she sings-
" Its Jurassic Park
Its a massive park
What could possibly go wrong?"
Arghhhhh! Its all i can hear now lol !
I wind my dh up by singing

“Massive dinosaur, massive dinosaur” from Paddy and Keith

Or

“Geriatric park, geriatric park” from the simpsons

He hates it Grin

Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd (?) when Jennie almost jumps off a building in a drugged state in Forest Gump.

I love "This woman's work" but I prefer the scene in "she's having a baby" to the handmaids tale. It's so perfect - John Hughes showed Kate Bush the scene and she wrote the song for it:

Wonderful World in Good Morning Vietnam

Spied · 12/08/2020 08:59

@Wavescrashingonthebeach
I've just looked for the name of the piece.
Dies Irae.
I'm wishing I hadn't watched the clip this morning but I find it so compelling.
'Day of wrath' - I'm hoping notGrin

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 12/08/2020 16:41

@Spied

Aha! Here's the little documentary about it Smile

Scrubs finale was perfect - the montage designed to fit the lyrics
Scrubs itself though used music throughout brilliantly
How to save a life - when Cox's patients were dying left, right + centre
Winter - death of Brad Fraser's character
Sinnerman - Turk running to the aid of woman at Xmas
Waiting for my real life to begin - JD's patient dying
There are so, so many

The end of the Affair when Noah stands on the cliff looking out with “the whole of the moon” playing. Amazing!!!

Nefelibata86 · 12/08/2020 22:48

I love only you and it was used in pure and something else I saw recently but can’t for the life of me remember!

covetingthepreciousthings · 12/08/2020 23:16

When the cast sing Wild World in Skins when Tony has been knocked down by a bus.

Yes! I used to love Skins.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 13/08/2020 01:57

Oooo that episode of Black Mirror about phones / social media and at the end "Cant take my eyes off of you"

GlummyMcGlummerson · 13/08/2020 08:50

Greg's Anatomy when Meredith goes to watch her death row patient receiving his capital punishment

GlummyMcGlummerson · 13/08/2020 08:53

@nottoday3000

Handmaids tale kate bush's cloud busting playing while the girls clean up the commanders murder !
See also the Kate Bush song when they're about to be hung in season 2 episode 1
GlummyMcGlummerson · 13/08/2020 08:55

Oops I see several people already beat me to it!

ThatsNotMyNameItsTooFluffy · 13/08/2020 09:59

waves Good one. Andrew Scott has been nominated for an Emmy for Smithereens. He has tough competition in he category (Outstanding guest actor) but I'd love to see him win - he carries that episode. His range is amazing. I think his character in Fleabag being nameless/referred only as (Hot) Priest did him a disservice awards-wise - he was far, far more than that and deserved to win more than the Critic's Choice award that year.

Yutes · 13/08/2020 21:50

The song Reoffender by Travis during One Three Hill when Lucas was cheating on Brooke with Payton!

Oh damn @nottoday3000 you got there before me. Another HMT one is where Luke gets the note that June wrote him. The accompanying music Nothing's Gonna Hurt You Baby by Cigarettes After Sex just got me. m.youtube.com/results?search_query=handmaid%27s+tale+nothing%27s+gonna+hurt+you+baby+
Crinkle77 · 13/08/2020 23:01

Sorry did it wrong. Hopefully this is right.

RJnomore1 · 13/08/2020 23:04

On a lighter note
Has anyone mentioned the scene from Bridget Jones 2 where hugh thingy and colin firth fight in the fountain to the darkness? It’s brilliant!

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 13/08/2020 23:11

@ThatsNotMyNameItsTooFluffy

He was amazing, i thought the young trainee who he kidnapped and the CEO were too. But he carried it like you say. Its an episode that buries a hole in your brain and makes you think.

15 Million Credits is another powerful episode, and id add the beautiful song the girl sings, plus the NERD song to this list. We're a cheery bunch arent this thread arent we - lots of dystopian stuff!

Ive always been drawn to Orwellian / dystopian books and films since watching Watership Down as a very small child.

Which leads me right on to something well worthy of this list......

BRIGHT EYES

Crinkle77 · 13/08/2020 23:13

Another Handmaids one. I just love how upbeat the music is then she's like oh shit what the fuck has happened to Ofglen.

United States of Tara spoiler alert even though it's 9 years old Grin

Final scene of United States Of Tara (well worth bingeing all 3 seasons on Amazon Prime).
The Logical Song is just perfect here
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible
Logical, oh responsible, practical....
....Please tell me who I am
Very fitting. Great series
