Tea towels - how do you wash yours?

Do people wash them separately or stick them in with an ordinary wash?

I always do mine separately, but it means they are hanging around until I have a few to do.

I'm not sure whether everyone segregates things that go on bodies from things that go on things that food goes on or if I am being a bit ridiculous...

Harsh...but you're being ridiculous! I bung mine in with any wash.

Watto1 · 09/08/2020 17:45

I stick them in with everything else. I’d be waiting a long time for a full load of tea towels!

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 09/08/2020 17:46

Mine are done daily & just get chucked in with a normal 30°c wash. We have a dishwasher so very little drying up, if that makes any difference (tend to use it in place of an oven glove).

WendyHoused · 09/08/2020 17:46

I usually wash them with the towels, or a wash on their own but we have and use absolutely loads.

BertieBotts · 09/08/2020 17:47

With normal clothes. Sometimes if they are manky I do them with bedding and towels on 60.

ThomasHardyPerennial · 09/08/2020 17:49

I put them in a load with towels and flannels, at 60 degrees.

PoxyPixie · 09/08/2020 17:49

Just in with the normal wash. It all comes out clean at the end so I’m not sure it really matters what kind of mess/dirt/food is on any of the items that are going in.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 09/08/2020 17:49

Sling them in with everything else. I don't often actually use them to dry plates though, more to pick up hot things.

Justgivemesomepeace · 09/08/2020 17:50

I just chuck them in the washer as I go so they are not hanging around. Then when I put a load of washing on they just get done

fussychica · 09/08/2020 17:50

With bedding and / or towels on 50/60 degree wash normally but if I just done that wash I'll bung it in with any 40 degree wash rather than leave them hanging around.

I just throw them in with every load. I do a clothes wash every 4 or 5 days and towels once a week.

joystir59 · 09/08/2020 17:53

Do them on a hot wash with either towels or bedding

SillyYak · 09/08/2020 17:54

I wash mine once a week at 60 degrees with the dish cloths, dusters and mop heads. They get a bit stinky by then though!

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 09/08/2020 17:55

Separately at 60 degrees

CrotchetyQuaver · 09/08/2020 17:56

i save them up along with dishcloths and kitchen towels. they go through on a 60 degree wash with towels flannels and bath mats and i iron my tea towels

BackforGood · 09/08/2020 17:57

Just bung them in if I am doing a hot wash - be that clothes, bedding, towels or whatever. Usually a mix.
It would take forever to build up a whole load just of tea towels, even if I thought that were a thing to be aware of.

AnnaSW1 · 09/08/2020 18:00

Hot wash with towels

zigaziga · 09/08/2020 18:02

I wash everything with everything. The only exception being my nappy wash which gets rinsed by itself first before everything else including tea towels are added.

wildthingsinthenight · 09/08/2020 18:03

Just chuck them in with the normal wash

TyneTeas · 09/08/2020 18:06

I usually do clothes at 30 and ordinary towels on a hotter wash. I might start bunging them in with towels...

This is my logic.
NotSuchAnEarlyBird · 09/08/2020 18:08

Hot wash with towels

Queenfreak · 09/08/2020 18:10

I do a 60° wash 2x a week, so they go in with that.
