We’ve lost 150 euros from an apartment booking, but they have given us a voucher
That’s valid for 18 months so if we go back there
We can reuse it
So not too bad really
Oh lost out a bit in some flights too by about 100 quid as we swapped them to next year and those flights were at a less premium time so
Not too bad all in

Awaiting around £700 flight refund through On The Beach (they say Easy Jet is responsible).

Not sure how to fight for it as there seems to be no way on contacting On the Beach.

Fortunately we haven't lost anything although I have a couple of credits to use next year.

We had a week in Wales booked for July which we've rebooked for May half term. We could have received a full refund but Bluestone were giving an additional £100 credit if you didn't cancel.

Our main holiday was a European road trip through 5 countries. Eurotunnel and Center Parcs have given a credit which we'll use next year, Holiday Inn, Novotel and one Airbnb have given a full refund. I thought I was going to lose £400 deposit as the other Airbnb host was refusing to refund but I spoke to Airbnb directly this morning and they actioned the refund immediately.

We booked flights and Airbnb accommodation to a festival in France .
Had to raise a section 75 with our credit card as Airbnb denied all knowledge of our booking despite taking £843 from our credit card as deposit and then taking the balance even though it had been cancelled with the owner.
That got sorted eventually and all credit to EasyJet they refunded a cancelled flight straight away and the flight that we couldn’t get to the refunded after we explained we couldn’t make the connection as our connecting flights were cancelled by them .
So all in all we have got away lightly .
Now we are trying to help friends in the same position ...I am building quite a file .
Hell will freeze over before I trust Airbnb again !

Out of pocket by €120 for the booking fees for three sets of flights booked through a travel agent.

The flights were cancelled and will be refunded, and I'm happy for the travel agent to get their fee for sorting out the refunds (I just had to send an email confirming I wanted a refund). But still waiting for the refunds to actually arrive...

I've also got €180 deposit credit for Disneyland Paris for a holiday there that we couldn't take in July. I'll be able to rebook for 2021 at the 2020 price I reserved.

In theory we've saved money by not going away but I've probably spent that money several times over buying stuff because we're not going away BlushHmm

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 06/08/2020 22:14

All of it because we have decided not to go to France this weekend on a package trip but the government hasn’t yet advised us not to. 😭

Lost no money. The one we had booked pre-lockdown was UK and July. Got to go on it.

We lost £240 deposit for holiday to majorca as they wouldnt allow us to move to next year and we wasnt willing to pay rest with all uncertainty at the time , good job we did as we would of flown back a couple days after quarantine was introduced and dh would of been on stat sick pay , i have already lost my job to covid

Notfeelinggreattoday · 06/08/2020 22:22

Also potentially set to loose £1000 next year as we decided to use out money we had saved for this year to book a nicer further afield one off holiday for next year as ds1 leaves college and ds 2 finishes exams so booked for beginning july before school prices kicked in as well and now goverment are talking of making exams later and spoken to travel agent who said we can't amend to go slightly later only cancel and re-book .

We had to cancel Bali at Easter, rebooked flights and accommodation for next year, lost nothing.
BA cancelled our return flight early September and sent the refund the next day, accommodation have returned the deposit, lost nothing.
We’re meant to be flying to Thailand in October, we’ll have to wait and see on that one...
