Flight refund - still waiting after 2 months!!

Hi, just wondering if anyone else is STILL waiting for flight refunds. We were due to fly with Ryanair last week of May, booked it via On The Beach, and still no refund from them. On The Beach have been great in as much as they've kept in contact and advised when they get the money from Ryanair they will forward to us, but it's starting to get frustrating now. We also had a hotel booked for the night before our flight with Jury's Inn, not had that refund either, despite chasing! Anybody else?

Had June flights with Ryanair. Choose to be refunded, was emailed offering vouchers. Ignored that as don’t want vouchers.

Have heard nothing since. Haven’t chased them up though as seems to be the same for everyone and I’ll just get pissed off.

We got all our Air France money back through chargeback on our debit card. They were appalling.

Twitter is the place to go to see how everyone else is fairing.

OP, you should not think twice about flying with Ryanair, you should never travel with them again. I have not done so for over 20 years.

Still waiting for Ryanair refund from March. Booked directly with Ryanair and requested refund on 27/03, can't get a straight answer about why it's taking so long.

EasyJet flights for April refunded in May.

Jet2 flights for September refunded this week.

Ryanair have treated their customers appallingly, they can't use the 'huge backlogs excuse when other airlines seem to be managing ok. And why are some flights from May/June refunded while others from March/April are still waiting? Disgraceful.

Those who booked through third party agents - are you leaving it to them to get refunds? We booked through Travel Up and they’ve not contacted us at all other than generic emails. We booked on a credit card and have travel insurance, so I would like to start pursuing alternative options for our refund if possible

I booked with lastminute.com and I've been waiting 4 months. According to my account a refund is pending, but this has been the case for some time. I didn't think of going directly to the airline, i might try that if I don't hear anything in a few weeks.

@Woodendollymix

Flights with Ryanair (booked direct) cancelled end March, went through chargeback as they were dragging their feet, got a refund just two weeks ago from the bank.

How do you claim a charge back? If you paid by debit card can you still do that?

My friend works for an airline. She (and her 6 colleagues) are dealing with nearly 2 million refunds. Normally they’d deal with no more than 30,000 a year.

That sounds tough and stressful for your friend maddiemookins but it's the giant airline companies that customers are unhappy with, who frankly should be employing more staff to deal with the refunds. Customers want their money back!

Ryan air have moved my return flight to a day after so I've been offered a full refund.

Did that but when I go to manage my account it is asking me to print off my boarding passes. I then went in to try and cancel again (as it was their fault they moved it) and it came up as error. There doesn't seem to be any way of knowing for sure if I'm going to get this refund with that thing saying print check in and print your boarding cards.

Anyone else had the same situation?

We've been waiting for about three months. Several thousand USD.

BA refunded me immediately when I contacted them. I'm still waiting for my Delta refund 2 months later.

Was due to fly with Ryanair on 1st July, requested cash refund as soon as possible after the flight was cancelled (have email proof of this.) Not heard anything so got in touch via their livechat thing - turns out they'd refunded me by voucher in spite of me wanting cash. I had to be quite insistent with the chat operator as she was extolling the virtues of vouchers, however eventually she gave up and passed my request on to refunds. Money refunded today (7 days later.)
Might be worth chasing up as people may find they have vouchers sat on their account and as far as Ryanair is concerned, the matter is closed!!

THANKS - where did you find it within your account that they'd given you a voucher please?

We booked with BA via Expedia and finally will have the last of our refund. I emailed every single day. I'm concerned that our money is propping up these companies

@BBCONEANDTWO the live chat lady told me I'd already been refunded in the form of a voucher, and it was there ready for me to use. I'd made it plain from the off that I didn't want a voucher!

@hopelessbusiness - I can't see a refund anywhere in my account but what's more worrying is the account is saying to check in to the flight so I can print my boarding pass - but they've changed the dates of one of the flights.

Just to update this, after using messenger to contact Ryanair, got no response BUT after contacting On The Beach, we got sent a message to say our refund had been issued. We received this last Friday! I have no way of knowing whether this came from OTB or Ryanair though, as pp said OTB had refunded in lieu of Ryanair?! Still waiting for Jury's Inn refund despite chasing about 6 times. One down, one to go!
