Hi, just wondering if anyone else is STILL waiting for flight refunds. We were due to fly with Ryanair last week of May, booked it via On The Beach, and still no refund from them. On The Beach have been great in as much as they've kept in contact and advised when they get the money from Ryanair they will forward to us, but it's starting to get frustrating now. We also had a hotel booked for the night before our flight with Jury's Inn, not had that refund either, despite chasing! Anybody else?

We finally got our refund from Virgin yesterday, but I did have the threaten them with a chargeback (which ultimately costs the company more in fees).

Ocies · 02/08/2020 13:58

It took 11 weeks for us to get our refund from easyjet.

TheFlis12345 · 02/08/2020 14:01

We got our BA refund within a week.

I waited 28 days for Jet2 before I started emailing, tweeting and hassling them. Went through PayPal in the end and they did it within 20 mins.

MrsMime · 02/08/2020 14:30

I chased via messenger after seeing a tip from here and got my refund from Ryanair a few days ago.

I've only just got a refund from Lufthansa and my flights were cancelled in early April.

hellswelshy · 02/08/2020 14:49

Ooh MrsMime could you let me know how you did that?

Via the message function on their fb page. Bot asks you some questions and you have the opportunity to request a refund.

Thanks, I will give it a try and report backSmile

Our flights with Lufthansa were cancelled at the end of March. Today we have received confirmation from the travel agent that Lufthansa will release the money on 20th August and we’ll get the money in our account by the end of August, which will have been 5 months 😡.

Our flights with EasyJet were refunded within a month.

I thought it would be the other way round with EasyJet causing issues and a ‘proper’ airline like Lufthansa offering better service!

We just got our refund from air Canada, booked via edreams. Took 90 days.

IckleWicklePumperNickle · 03/08/2020 20:18

@Perihelion

Our flights were cancelled on the 21st March. Being given the total run around by Air France and no refund yet. Japan Trans Ocean, who I didn't expect to get a refund from as the flights were running, but we couldn't go to Japan , fully refunded us within 2 days of asking, before the flight dates.
I've been given the run around with Air France for months too. Got airline credits which I don't want.
rallytog1 · 03/08/2020 20:44

Been waiting for a refund from Swiss Air for over 4 months. We've initiated a chargeback but there's a delay in processing those too Hmm

dueindecember10 · 04/08/2020 07:27

Still waiting from April for Virgin flights booked through Expedia. Driving me mad now.

Woodendollymix · 04/08/2020 07:39

Flights with Ryanair (booked direct) cancelled end March, went through chargeback as they were dragging their feet, got a refund just two weeks ago from the bank.

MistressMounthaven · 04/08/2020 07:43

How are people contacting Easyjet. I haven't had an answer yet despite holding on for ages.
I have outstanding flights from April and have also a new problem when I made a mistake booking something for later this year.

onemouseplace · 04/08/2020 08:08

Those who booked through third party agents - are you leaving it to them to get refunds? We booked through Travel Up and they’ve not contacted us at all other than generic emails. We booked on a credit card and have travel insurance, so I would like to start pursuing alternative options for our refund if possible.

goingtotown · 04/08/2020 08:19

April flight still waiting for refund. I’ll never use Ryanair again.

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 04/08/2020 10:09

I think (but may be wrong) if you booked through a travel agent, you have to go through them. I didn't, but having sadly been a member of a FB wtf are Alitalia playing at group for two months, that seems to be the case. At least with Alitalia. People were saying they got through to the call centre but once they gave their ticket reference they were told to call their agent.
I don't imagine that affects chargeback though.

Easyjet- my cancelled flights just had a clicky link in the email they sent. The one I cancelled, I did through Manage my Bookings.

KatherineParr4 · 04/08/2020 10:12

I got a refund through Chargeback on my credit card. Ryanair said I wouldn’t get it through them till at least the end of August due to the backlog. My flights were for the beginning of June.

KatherineParr4 · 04/08/2020 10:17

Just as we speak, I’ve got an email from a Ryanair issuing a refund! So not sure what to do now!

whitepebblecactus · 04/08/2020 10:23

We booked with on the beach with flights through Ryanair and on the beach refunded us a few weeks ago even though they hadn't had the money from Ryanair yet. We were due to travel in early April so I wonder if they'll do the same for you in about a month.

We hadn't contacted them at all about it, so I thought it was pretty excellent customer service. They also issued us with a £100 voucher for a future booking.

KatherineParr4 · 04/08/2020 10:34

@whitepebblecactus

That’s good customer service!

hellswelshy · 04/08/2020 16:38

That is great customer service, so hope they will treat us the same! Tried contacting Ryanair on messenger as above pp advised, no joy so far. Will update when I hear anything! It will definitely make me think twice about booking with them again after this, it's really poor.
