Not just me?

OP posts:
clopper · 28/07/2020 23:59

I can’t get on it either

ARudeTerriblePerson · 29/07/2020 00:04

Yeah, the media have been pushing it, so I reckon: too popular.

OP posts:
Haggardy · 29/07/2020 00:05

I was half heartedly staying up for it, but never really expected to get on.

ARudeTerriblePerson · 29/07/2020 00:07

I know, me too. Lottery.

Givemeabreakpls · 29/07/2020 00:08

No joy here either

hillbilly · 29/07/2020 00:08

Same here 😫

hillbilly · 29/07/2020 00:09

I did eventually get into a registration page but then it went again.

ARudeTerriblePerson · 29/07/2020 00:09

I think the govt'll tout it as a massive victory - "so much demand, site crashed, such a popular idea, hero PM"

OP posts:
OnlyBejoking · 29/07/2020 00:09

Yep. Totally crashed

JennyWreny · 29/07/2020 00:10

They needed a virtual queuing system, didn't they? 😬

ARudeTerriblePerson · 29/07/2020 00:12

grrrrr

OP posts:
molliemay · 29/07/2020 00:28

Yep stayed up and can’t get on.

RainbowRaine · 29/07/2020 00:31

Still can't get on

ARudeTerriblePerson · 29/07/2020 01:05

No, I can't.

OP posts:
SandyGussetButton · 29/07/2020 01:23

Me neither! Hmm

TheFormidableMrsC · 29/07/2020 01:29

I've been trying since it opened...crashed before I even got on the page. It will be hailed as a massive success obviously Hmm

mellowgreenspring · 29/07/2020 01:32

If you are trying to get on and live in wales or Scotland they've managed to exclude you, clearly nobody owns bikes outside England.

Lonecatwithkitten · 29/07/2020 02:07

@mellowgreenspring it is a health strategy which is a devolved power so Westminster can only make such decisions for England.

ARudeTerriblePerson · 29/07/2020 02:10

It should be means tested on tubbiness. Tubbiest gets the bike.

SoloMummy · 29/07/2020 06:58

I gave up at midnight and started again at 5 am. Two hours later have a code.

HasaDigaEebowai · 29/07/2020 07:01

Crashed on us too. Stupid idea though which will be used by the middle class hobby riders who are fit and cycle anyway.

RainbowRaine · 29/07/2020 09:48

No vouchers left

ARudeTerriblePerson · 29/07/2020 11:41

Well done, SoloMummy! Thanks, everyone else, for sympathising! Yes to hobby riders probably getting the bulk of them.

OP posts:
Chevron123 · 29/07/2020 12:08

I am a massive advocate of cycling but I think this idea was ridiculous. I know bike club members who queued up to get their £50 vouchers to spend on immaculate £3,000 bikes. Take the money that would have been spent on this scheme and give it to the charities that refurb old bikes and donate them to kids/keyworkers who can't afford one otherwise.

Site is back up working now.
