@TheYellowOfTheEgg That's (somewhat) reassuring news about Chessington, I'm glad it wasn't too dementory.
With the announcement about muzzled worship in churches, this means that with my principles about not accepting the new abnormal, I've made my last visit to church for a while, and I shall be emailing the vicar to explain why, emphasising that it's not his doing, but that I do not want to appear "accepting" of the new abnormal (not using the exact words). It may be controversial of me to do so, but as I've often said, I think that we are being manipulated by the government because we're so docile and accepting, and they keep doing experiments to check that we still are. Maybe I am being paranoid, but nothing surprises me right now.
I had Radio 4 on most of today, which is unusual for me. I kept thinking "these latest measures seem very sensible", and I almost felt on the side of the government, doing their best in a bad situation. Am I being brainwashed by the BBC?
When news is presented like that, you don't get the public reaction, apart from their carefully chosen interviews with people (who are probably told what to say). I had to keep reminding myself that the only evidence we have of the "increase in infection" is the government's word for it; for all I know they're playing it up as usual, thinking that people will believe it more because of what's happening in Spain.
And I wish Boris would talk like a human being. I've got his wretched "squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze the brakes" stuck in my head.
