A. Do a total rewash
B. Do a rinse and spin
C. Don't rewash and hang up inside/tumble dry
D. Leave it there until it stops raining and it dries where it is

As you can probably guess I've left my washing out and it's rained

B

rslsys · 24/07/2020 21:34

Why no option E. Burn it because it’s been Darked on and spiders have dragged their willies over it?

Regulus · 24/07/2020 21:37

@rslsys Thank Fuck. I put option E on the first page and yet none of these obvious weirdos posters thought that setting fire to the washing was the only option.

Thisismytimetoshine · 24/07/2020 21:39

What do people imagine happens to washing left outside overnight, that doesn't happen in daylight? Excluding any nonsense about spider's willies and the like.
Does the night air contain poisonous substances? Do these people go out at night themselves, or cower indoors like vampires once the sun goes down?

Regulus · 24/07/2020 21:40

@Thisismytimetoshine It's Been Darked On.

rslsys · 24/07/2020 21:42

@Regulus there seems to be an influx of posters who have been here for less than 12 months.

What does this mean? The darked on thing is an old not particularly funny joke, is it not? Surely nobody takes it seriously?

Nanalisa60 · 24/07/2020 21:55

If it whites then it’s B
If it’s darks then it’s D

00Sassy · 24/07/2020 21:55

I only opened the thread for the ‘darked on’ comments WinkGrin

D. Makes my.clothes smell nice! (I don't use fabric conditioner).

KingOfDogShite · 24/07/2020 22:00

The spider willies thing wasn’t funny the first time someone said it back in 2006 or whenever.

bengalcat · 24/07/2020 22:02

I never leave washing out but if I did it would be D - would just have a sniff of it first though

tryingharder92 · 24/07/2020 22:04

@Regulus

Not worried about the rain but as it's been Darked on I'd probably F. set fire to it.
Wonderful Wink
Emmagen · 24/07/2020 22:07

I'd do A as despite living rurally we have working docks about a mile away and our rain is filthy, I've lived in cities and not known anything like this. I'd leave dog towels or dog bedding out though, I don't think she would mind!

If I lived somewhere with lovely clean rain I'd just leave it out to re dry.

Shouldbedoing · 24/07/2020 22:08

D
As long as it's dry within 48 hours!

Shouldbedoing · 24/07/2020 22:09

oh, and as long as it's not the first dusty rain after a dry spell.

ouch321 · 24/07/2020 22:14

I dry washing indoors as no garden but I'd always worry about birds droppings ruining things on the line if I had a place with a garden.

I'd have to inspect each item to check it hadn't got 'mess' on before bringing it in. Nightmare.

thriftyhen · 24/07/2020 22:28

D. Occasionally C. Never ever crossed my mind to do A or B! Just think that the rain gives it a bit of an extra rinse.

WanderingMilly · 24/07/2020 22:35

Never ever hang the washing outside in the first place. Hate the smell and never think it is as soft and fluffy tumbled dried washing...always tumble dry instead. Lovely!

Regulus · 24/07/2020 22:46

I'm relieved that those who understand have migrated to this thread, interestingly they have only arrived since the sun had set so I can deduce they have been busy making sure no washing gets Darked On, which, incidentally, is a prudent way to spend one's day.

Oh, stop your nonsense. Those who understand... 😂 it was a barely amusing joke circa 2010. Get over it. Move on. The rest of us have.
Regulus · 24/07/2020 23:01

@Thisismytimetoshine I will pray for you.

Thisismytimetoshine · 24/07/2020 23:17

No need. Save yourself, dear 😂
