A. Do a total rewash
B. Do a rinse and spin
C. Don't rewash and hang up inside/tumble dry
D. Leave it there until it stops raining and it dries where it is

As you can probably guess I've left my washing out and it's rained

  1. Re-wash, at 90 degrees
  2. Speed wash at 30, as an extra precaution
  3. Tumble dry with scent sheet
  4. Final line dry inside
  5. Iron everything to get rain water creases out
Regulus · 24/07/2020 09:05

I'm glad @Grobagsforever gets the seriousness of the situation. Still think fire is a better option

BillywigSting · 24/07/2020 09:05

B but I also live in a city and have seen the dirt that rain leaves on the windows, it is not clean water but not dirty enough to need a full rewash

tywysoges · 24/07/2020 09:06

If it’s dripping wet, I’d give it a spin, then hang outside/inside/tumble dry depending on the forecast - if it’s not, I’d just skip the spin part and choose a suitable drying place according to weather. Probably wouldn’t occur to me to rewash or even rinse before spinning.

JoleneExotic · 24/07/2020 09:06

Leave them in situ until dry. I often leave washing out overnight as evenings are the time I can go out to hang it.

IwishIhadaMargarita · 24/07/2020 09:07

I never leave washing out at night. My mum taught me that there is damper air at night. She used to go out saying ‘better get that washing in before the dampness comes down’

PurpleDaisies · 24/07/2020 09:08

C or D depending on the forecast.

Happymum12345 · 24/07/2020 09:14

D

ThickFast · 24/07/2020 09:16

C

Hiccupiscal · 24/07/2020 09:18

C or D

SidesteppinTheRona · 24/07/2020 09:18

C or D ... then it’s really outdoor fresh!
I live in the country though, so I have nice rain.

dudsville · 24/07/2020 09:19

E.

But say an emergency meant i couldn't "E", then A.

DeathMetalMum · 24/07/2020 09:23

D or C never A. I hung washing out last night about 8PM as it had been raining here all day. I've also been known to hang washing out while it's actually raining, if I'm going out and know it's supposed to clear up later in the day. It doesn't smell as fresh from the tumble drier or when hung inside but sometimes need must.

MyTearsAreOnFire · 24/07/2020 09:24

Why am I now singing “purple rain”? But singing the words dirty rain instead?

Option D for me Smile

drspouse · 24/07/2020 09:25

I also live in a city and have seen the dirt that rain leaves on the windows, it is not clean water
That's your windows.
C or D if it's not raining that hard/has stopped.

Namechange170518 · 24/07/2020 09:27

D for me

icebearforpresident · 24/07/2020 09:29

D for me. If it’s been raining exceptionally hard or for a long time i might bring it back in for a spin cycle but the only reason I would wash it again is if there’s bird shit on it.

leafeater · 24/07/2020 09:30

I'm facing this dilemma this morning. Non forecast rain! I've got four loads out there Smile

I'm going with D.

BlusteryShowers · 24/07/2020 09:31

A

PhoneLock · 24/07/2020 09:32

D or possible C if it's the monsoon season.

RiftGibbon · 24/07/2020 09:33

D. However if something had been, we, decorated by birds it would go back in the wash.
I'm quite surprised at the amount of people who would rewash. No wonder we have problems with the environment if we are happy to unnecessarily use resources and power.

MinorArcana · 24/07/2020 09:34

C or D depending on how quickly I needed the clothes.

Queenfreak · 24/07/2020 09:35

D.
I've got into the habit of emptying the line late afternoon and refilling with the load I've washed that day. So it's always left out overnight.

HeronLanyon · 24/07/2020 09:35

Depends on levels of pollution. Here in central London it would be A no question. Elsewhere I might think about B but I’d still probably do A in case of any bird poop/spider slime etc.

Holyrivolli · 24/07/2020 09:36

D - as long as a dry period is forecast. C if not.
