For all those who wore Ananya by Body Shop in the 90's

The Primark Clean Cotton reed diffuser smells just like it. My bedroom smells like my teen bedroom circa 1994. It's so evocative and I think I would kill to go back to that era even just for a while

Captivation by Impulse (pink bottle) was my choice.

frustrationcentral · 23/07/2020 23:17

Ha we're all showing our age on this thread Grin

I loved o2 and spice girls impulse and there was a natural collections spray I loved too but can't remember the name!

Afonavon · 23/07/2020 23:21

Oh I loved Oceana, Impulse 02 and Fire, however was not allowed to wear Exclamation as it gave my Dad a migraine everytime I wore it.

Flipflopsaga · 23/07/2020 23:24

Kiwi lip balm from the Body Shop and white musk drops 😍 My friend’s favourite was the dewberry drops however she put on so much people would complain about the overpowering smell 😆 Such a happy blast from the past, thanks op and all posters xx

I think that the Body Shop are the best for fragrant body washes and scrubs.

Sadly, I will never ever shop with them again after how they treated JK Rowling recently Sad

Haworthia · 23/07/2020 23:29

I can’t remember what Ananya smelled like, although I remember it was pink. I can remember Dewberry as a friend used to bathe in it. I preferred White Musk.

Anyone remember the fragrance oil displays with the testers? Glass rods with bulbous ends? Grin

Also remember Impulse O2 and the Vanilla range which was fucking horrible.

Loved Exclamation and Anais Anais.

IHeartHarryStyles · 23/07/2020 23:33

Loved Ananya and fuzzy peach. But also loved the perfume Tribe and Charlie Red 😂 so sophisticated.

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about that.

Damn and blast. I've run out of a couple of things too. Oh well. Their loss.

elQuintoConyo · 23/07/2020 23:46

I still have a bottle of Ananya shower gel/body lotion/don't quite remember. It's a bit late now, but I'll have a sniff tomorrow to see if it still smells divine!

nonicknameseemsavailable · 23/07/2020 23:49

I loved Ananya

divafever99 · 23/07/2020 23:53

Ah yes that was my favourite! Strange how at the time I seem to remember being able to afford pretty much anything I wanted at the body shop with my Saturday job money, but now it's well out of my price range! Someone sent me a body shop at home catalogue recently, I couldn't believe the prices! I think it all went wrong years ago when it was bought out (by L'Oréal I think?). Bring back the days when you could bring back your little empty plastic bottle and get it refilled with banana shampoo! It's a shame it's not how it was, my dd would love it! Loved the impulse 02 spray as well, I've been searching for years for something similar but never found anything!

TotalEclipseOfTheHeartAndSoul · 23/07/2020 23:56

I loved Ananya! Tried to find that and Dewberry last year in the Body Shop, they only had White Musk.

Mashingthecompost · 24/07/2020 00:02

Totally forgot about o2! Woah. School changing rooms, what a flashback. I liked moonflower too. I also loved Tobacco flower, and there was one called cotton or white cotton that I got in my first year of uni that I was just thinking about the other day. Dewberry my Nana had, in the wee glass bottle. I used so much of it in her room that my Grandad couldn't sleep that night. Ananya I had in a perfume stick like a lipbalm, bright pink plastic, the waxy scented stuff was yellow. I'd forgotten so much of this until now!

Notgoingonholiday · 24/07/2020 00:04

Love ananya and white musk. Yes to the little glass bottles! The perfume oil in the little plastic bottles was so potent.
Also loved Anaïs Anaïs. Remember pinching some of my older sister's LouLou and spilling it in our bedroom Blush I was a very annoying little sister....

PeterPomegranate · 24/07/2020 00:05

Oh I loved Ananya! It wasn’t as popular as the others. Suspect I wouldn’t like it now sadly. Just like I’m trying to work my way through a bottle of Jil Sander Sun because I liked it in 1998.

PickAChew · 24/07/2020 00:10

My entire university halls smelled of Dewberry!

Ozgirl75 · 24/07/2020 03:11

The Body Shop would do so well if they went back to the cool things you could do in the 90s. Fill up a little basket of bath beads and soaps, make gift baskets for your friends, get tiny sizes of things for a good price.
I went in recently and the prices have gone up so much and the stuff is just normal and boring.
I was dewberry and my best friend was white muskGrin

Toddlerteaplease · 24/07/2020 03:18

Oo Impulse O2, was just gorgeous. I also loved Florentina from M&S.

Toddlerteaplease · 24/07/2020 03:21

And body shop kiwi lip balm, or boots chocolate and cherry lip balm. Tasted divine.

longtimecomin · 24/07/2020 03:21

I loved fuzzy peach, sounds rude now I'm older.

JMAngel1 · 24/07/2020 05:16

@JaneJeffer
Gypsy ! omg I loved that in the 80s

Beautiful3 · 24/07/2020 05:31

Yes I remember that scent. I had a bottle of anaya along with white musk. All my friends had that dewberry one. I used to spend a lot of time browsing the body shop. They used to sell alot of miniatures, which weren't expensive. Now I only buy the ginger shampoo (which is amazing for a dry scalp) and the grapeseed serum. Their prices have gone up considerably. Also they don't seem to do a fun range for teens like they used to, I used to love their scented/tinted lip balms! Today everything seems aimed at older people.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 24/07/2020 05:53

I'll never buy from them again following the JK Rowling fiasco but I do have happy memories of shopping in their first tiny London shop in Covent Garden in the 1980s. You could take your bottles in for refills and the labels were bright green and the font on them looked like hand writing. My favourite ever product of theirs was a green herbal bath and shower gel ... I can almost smell it now.

For anyone who is now boycotting and wants some pointers for alternative products, there was a useful thread going on MN for a while ... will try and find it.

MaximumDose · 24/07/2020 06:53

I can still smell mostly musk. That was the only one i liked and I'd pay a lot of money to just smell it again!

Livpool · 24/07/2020 07:16

I used to love Moonflower - would love something that smells like that
