Do you talk to yourself?

I do. Generally I'm able to keep it under wraps around other people, but a colleague spotted me recently and rather took the piss. How normal is it? When I do it, I'm imagining I am takling to someone else and explaining something, I think it helps me process my thoughts.

All the time
I also vary it sometimes by narrating my day instead, moving from first to third person.
Most of us do it at work. We spend our lives saying 'Sorry, ignore me. Just talking to myself.'

Yes all the time. My 6 year old DD gets quite put out if she hears me as she said I can talk to her if I need someone to talk to. Grin

I talk to my cats and dog. They understand everything I say, always agree with me and try and make helpful suggestions Grin

Yes constantly. I'm not always talking to myself though. I often talk to other people such as friends, family, colleagues etc. They obviously aren't there at the time, but I have conversations all the time.

My mind is never silent, there is always a conversation going on.

Tillygetsit · 21/07/2020 00:08

Constantly. Nobody else listens.

Deathraystare · 23/07/2020 18:57

All the time. Normally swearing at myself when I cannot find something. Also if I am in a rush and can't get my feet in the right trouser leg,

I also yell at the lift to bloody hurry up!

DramaAlpaca · 23/07/2020 19:00

All the flippin' time.

Lunaballoon · 23/07/2020 19:03

I have an internal monologue going all the time. I wish it would STFU sometimes! It’s not out loud though.

ElvisPresleysSideburns · 23/07/2020 19:04

Of course! Who else am I supposed to get any sense out of? Grin

Yes

WanderingMilly · 23/07/2020 19:17

Yes, I often do it. Doesn't matter when I'm at home, no-one sees. In the supermarket, it's different. I think it started when I had babies sitting in the supermarket trolley, I'd go round saying, Oh, yes, we need oranges...and some potatoes. I still do it now and the children have grown up long ago.

However, I have now discovered that wearing a mask in the supermarket is brilliant, no-one can see that I'm chatting to myself as I go round!!

Yes - a lot. I also have loads of two-way conversations with my dogs too.
