If money were no object, what film or TV prop would you love to own?

It's in the news that a Darth Vader costume is being auctioned with an expected price of £200,000. While I wouldn't be interested in Star Wars memorabilia, there are some film props I would definitely like to own if money were no object.

I've decided my pick would be the bunny from Con Air. I could display it in a box and tell visitors in my home to 'put the bunny back in the box' if they looked at it Grin.

What would your choice be?

That's a great one! It would look really good on a bookstand, opened on that page.

One of the Alien costumes, would be perfect for Halloween Grin

Nice! I'm not a car person but if I were choosing a film car it would have to be the De Lorean from Back to the Future.

An animatronic dinosaur from any of the Jurassic films!
In my front garden to annoy the neighbours!!

okiedokieme · 17/07/2020 10:46

I'm not really into memorabilia but there's a guy with a storm trooper outfit (on a mannequin I suppose) on a balcony near me, looks great

Whatsnewpussyhat · 17/07/2020 10:58

I remember years ago going on the back lot tour ride in Universal Studios and seeing the spaceship off 'flight of the navigatior'.
It just looked so sad and unloved. It would fit nicely in my driveway if I got rid of my car.
Or the Tardis, or a working, full size Dalek

moonbells · 17/07/2020 11:01

I'd also like the TARDIS. Preferably a working one. Grin

Palavah · 17/07/2020 11:02

The house from the Chamomile Lawn or a.n.other Christie coastal mansions.

If that's not allowed then I could settle for the DB2!

NameChange84 · 17/07/2020 11:05

The Millennium Falcon

NameChange84 · 17/07/2020 11:06

Oh! Oh! Or the Banks House from Father of the Bride 2 with the Baby Annexe even though I don’t have a baby.yet

Time40 · 17/07/2020 11:13

I'd have the derelict inland pier from Carnival of Souls ... but that's cheating, because it's not a prop; it's a location (and also, it burned to the ground many years ago, so I'd have to go back in time to get it).

MrsScrubbingbrush · 17/07/2020 11:24

Bag End from The Hobbit/LOTR films.

I could move there when DP & the teens get too annoying.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/07/2020 11:27

The Knight Bus from Prisoner of Azkaban. I'd Air BnB it or do kids sleepover parties from it.

I'd be a millionaire.

UncleShady · 17/07/2020 11:32

I'd love a garden big enough to house a Millennium Falcon as a garden office.

I almost bought DH a real Dalek once, one that had been on set of some episode in 1970-something but the guy selling it wanted 12 grand or something and I don't love DH that much Grin

Bloke next door but one has a stormtrooper statue in his house looking out over his back garden which was a bit frightening first few times I saw it from our garden.

Alexindiamondarmour · 17/07/2020 11:45

The Friends couch!

Pelleas · 17/07/2020 11:59

If we are talking houses, I'd have that ultimate 70s house from the wife-swapping episode of Life on Mars.

Bag End from The Hobbit/LOTR films

Fight you for it! That's exactly what I came on to say!

(actually, how's about rock paper scissors? I'm almost guaranteed to lose a fight..)

GarkandGookin · 17/07/2020 12:16

Anything from Star Wars would be welcome here (especially BB8).
What I would really like is Chibs Telford from Sons of Anarchy but I don't think that is quite what you meant...

Naicehamhun · 17/07/2020 12:19

Judy Denches Queen Elizabeth costume from Shakespeare in Love.
I remember the first time I watched it I was fixated on how beautiful and extravagant it was.

ShipshapeShore · 17/07/2020 12:23

Gandalf's staff would be fun. I'd answer the door with it and bellow "You shall not pass" to everyone Grin

TheDrsDocMartens · 17/07/2020 12:35

Tardis in the garden.

SistersOfPercy · 17/07/2020 12:43

I collect replica props. This is one corner of my dining room. I have about ten full size, wearable, Star Wars costumes.

It's not a cheap hobby 😂

Love it!
