How has your childhood crush aged?

David Duchovny was my first crush 😍 I had posters of him and the X Files all over my bedroom. I've just started watching Aquarius on Netflix and oh my god, he's still gorgeous! I actually think he looks better, but that may be because I've aged 25 years as well and am no longer into men in their 20s!

David Essex here too. Yep still would.

MushyPeasAreTheDevilsFood · 15/07/2020 22:07

Damon Albarn and Christian Slater.

WellTidy · 15/07/2020 22:13

Harry Hamlin. He used to be a very private chap, never courted publicity, you knew very little about him really. Now he is married to Lisa Rinna (of real housewives fame), flogging himself one the reality tv circuit and for the paparazzi.

I feel so let down. I’m not angry, just disappointed, in you Harry.

Timefor45 · 15/07/2020 22:21

Michael Brandon- Dempsey and Makepeace. He’s still got it.
Married Makepeace in real life and they both look amazing!

DennisTMenace · 15/07/2020 22:30

John Bon Jovi. Still would to be honest.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 15/07/2020 22:35

onemouseplace also had a stonking crush on Tim Roth in the mid-90s - he's not aged so well

How very dare you! He looked great in Tin Star. I have a massive soft spot for him, even though he’s a good 20 years older than me 🤭

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 15/07/2020 22:37

Otherwise, Keanu Reeves was my first crush and he’s aged like a fine wine

Ewan McGregor is number one on my laminated list and my gods, I still would

Raimona · 15/07/2020 22:38

Patrick Dempsey still looks amazing. So do Ethan Hawke, Christian Bale, Josh Brolin. Harrison Ford. Rob Lowe. Brad Pitt. Will Smith.

Those that haven’t aged so well: Atreyu from Never Ending Story. Brendan Fraser. Johnny Depp. Mickey Rourke. Val Kilmer. Russell Crowe. It really does seem totally random who looks good and who doesn’t. It comes down to genes, health and diet I suppose.

RightOnTheEdge · 15/07/2020 22:39

Not great Sad

Corey Haim
River Pheonix
Heath Ledger
Sad

Johnny Depp Shock my God what a mess and he looks so filthy and not in a good way.

All so beautiful and talented such a terrible waste.

Raimona · 15/07/2020 22:44

Wow Morten Harket looks amazing for a guy in his 60s! Makes me wonder what it must be like to go through your entire life being that beautiful.

Thneedville · 15/07/2020 22:44

Oh no you made me google my real life first childhood crush. He’s still gorgeous in mid 40s and properly successful/ famous in his field. I chose well as a 12-year-old. Sadly he probably didn’t know I existed.

Celebrity-wise it was Jason Donovan. I sort of try and squint and see the young him in photos, and try and ignore the drug addled years.

IamPickleRick · 15/07/2020 22:46

Ah Keanu ❤️

TheRattleBag · 15/07/2020 22:51

@Katinthedoghouse

Adam Ant. Just.No.
I know that he hasn't aged as well as some of his peers, but I still would!

He's got a twinkle in his eye, an amazing smile, and still has that certain something about him which makes me come over all unnecessary (to quote a previous poster!)

I've seen him live a few times recently and he really is tremendous Grin

Adamandtheaunts · 15/07/2020 22:55

Real life crush - still gorgeous, better if anything. Still gay but at least I know that now!

loopylindazdaughter · 15/07/2020 22:56

I adored eminem as a teenager, still mighty fine!

Imissmoominmama · 15/07/2020 22:56

Paul Newman Sad. I remember the first time I saw him in a film; I waited for the credits and wrote his name down. He was beautiful.

Mummiepig · 15/07/2020 23:00

Gary Barlow, definitely got better with age
Mark owen, hmmm not faired so well

Grandmi · 15/07/2020 23:02

David Essex
George Michael

mellowww · 15/07/2020 23:07

@FancyPants20

Johnny Depp in 21 Jump Street was a major one of mine. I watched that video today with him and AH apologizing to Australia and it made me feel a bit sick. Wouldn't touch him with a bargepole now.
Johnny D was super hot in 21 Jump Street. I loved him.

The dog-explanation vid was bizarrely nauseating because he was dead pan acting - because it was preferable to do that than cope with the fallout from A.H. if he didn't toe the party line. It was a moment of unique public humiliation fir him, I think. (she threatened staff with losing their job if they didn't lie on oath for her - allegedly ...)

I loved Elvis. 💝

And later Art Malik. Omg.

BringMeTea · 15/07/2020 23:07

Sir Kenny Dalglish still has..... well, his hair and teeth.

IAintentDead · 15/07/2020 23:10

David McCallum as Illya Kuryakin in The Man from UNCLE (1960s) and latterly in CSI

www.goldenglobes.com/person/david-mccallum

and whilst 50 years has made a difference he hasn't aged badly.

FrenchtoEnglish · 15/07/2020 23:14

I once wrote Brett Andersson a dirty note and he sent me his autograph.

Wannabefarmer · 16/07/2020 11:00

Eminem looks like Kryten from Red Dwarf now.

I had a HUGE crush on Brenda Fraser! He was beautiful in George of the Jungle.

I've aged pretty well for how much crap I've put my body through. Except when I smile, then my entire face wrinkles up Grin

Deadringer · 16/07/2020 11:12

My earliest crush was Gary Glitter, so no.

YoureBreakingMyHeartCecilia · 16/07/2020 11:17

Came on to say Morten!! Looks incredible still. Does he live some kind of incredibly ascetic, healthy lifestyle? Yes he’s clearly got amazing bone structure but how does he still look THAT good at his age?
