New shed disaster (pics)

Help....I haven't got a big garden, patch of lawn, patio and a shed, but because I had conifers dug out and lawn laid,it changed from a dark cave to a nice space.

Hidden behind all the giant trees was a little shed so I painted it green and it all looked lovely, 4 years ago. Anyway the shed had had its day and was falling down so I thought I'd splash out and buy a new one. Took a pic to a local shed maker and it looks nothing like what I wanted.

Thought it might look better when the paint was in but it looks worse! And it wasn't cheap... on the left is the inspiration and the right is what I have got.

oh no , have you spoken to them ? its not very wide , it would look better if it was wider

WaltzingBetty · 14/07/2020 17:52

Did you specify measurements? The main issue is the width - to get the same look you need a wider shed or narrower doors

It actually does look very similar except for the width

doyounothavegoogle · 14/07/2020 17:57

Are you looking at different pictures @WaltzingBetty

It looks nothing like it!

leafeater · 14/07/2020 17:59

It's cute but it's all doors Smile

EinsteinaGogo · 14/07/2020 18:00

Oh dear... that's not good.

What did you actually order?

SoloMummy · 14/07/2020 18:00

Did you specify the dimensions you wanted?

LIZS · 14/07/2020 18:05

Did you not see it before it was up and painted. If you specified the narrower width but same height as picture it was always going to look skinny. Difficult to expect the supplier to do anything now.

catbellz · 14/07/2020 18:08

Is that the size you wanted? Looking at its footings, it could have easily fit a shed twice the size! That size seems neither use nor ornament (as my mother would say!)

Hillbillyhotel · 14/07/2020 18:08

OP, you can see your camera roll along the bottom of your pictures.x

JaJaDingDong · 14/07/2020 18:09

You must have seen it during the build. Didn't you notice then?
Is there actually space for what you wanted in that position?

They look absolutely nothing alike! I could do better myself and I’m not a professional shed builder. Actually, I have done better. Mind you, I don’t think he’s a professional shed builder either!

CottonSock · 14/07/2020 18:17

I think it's cute, but does look small

Bluntness100 · 14/07/2020 18:20

I agree, did they not provide dimensions?

It’s likely impossible it could have looked like you wished at the size you got. So this comes down to what sizing Information you got when you agreed to buy.

Bluebellbike · 14/07/2020 18:20

The design picture has a shed with width on either side of the doors. The actual built shed has nothing either side of the doors. That's why it's so odd.

Bluntness100 · 14/07/2020 18:25

Agree it’s about half the size of the one in the pics, as said, this comes down to what the op agreed ie dimensions design etc,

The one the op wanted would be an expensive outlay, v the one she got, the difference between a few thousand and a few hundred.

randolph78 · 14/07/2020 18:27

You can't get the same as the picture without being much wider or the doors would be too tiny. I think it looks OK though. And your garden is waaaaay bigger than ours BTW. Where I come from, that's really quite spacious!

PlanDeRaccordement · 14/07/2020 18:28

You don’t have the space for your inspiration shed, so I agree that you should have really thought about dimensions and size.

Bluntness100 · 14/07/2020 18:29

Actually it’s only a few hundred on manomano for the one in the ops pic,

Op why didn’t you just buy from them?

Cahu58 · 14/07/2020 18:36

Well it was obviously going to be smaller because of the size of the base I had so I expected him to scale it down....

Cahu58 · 14/07/2020 18:39

I wish I had bought it from them now.... aaagh

Painting it green may help...?
