New shed disaster (pics)

Help....I haven't got a big garden, patch of lawn, patio and a shed, but because I had conifers dug out and lawn laid,it changed from a dark cave to a nice space.

Hidden behind all the giant trees was a little shed so I painted it green and it all looked lovely, 4 years ago. Anyway the shed had had its day and was falling down so I thought I'd splash out and buy a new one. Took a pic to a local shed maker and it looks nothing like what I wanted.

Thought it might look better when the paint was in but it looks worse! And it wasn't cheap... on the left is the inspiration and the right is what I have got.

Could you turn it through 30 degrees as then it may occupy the space better and not look so piddly? Although the original base might be an issue but you may be able to resolve this with a few paving slabs.

Can you repost the other photo, OP?

Do you think painting it a darker colour might help?

I think that's what you've got!

If he'd scaled the whole thing proportionately you wouldn't have been able to get in the doors.

Andylion · 14/07/2020 19:58

I think one, centred door would have looked better.

Bluntness100 · 14/07/2020 21:14

I think the issue is it’s been scaled down so much, I’m not sure what else he could have done with such a small size. A single door would have been better on such a small shed.

I guess the price reflected the size?

@doyounothavegoogle

It's the same height, roof pitch, and door style - the only difference is the width which is what the OP requested. With the narrower sizing it is impossible to give OP the doors she wants and still have the door framed by panelled wood. So yes they're essentially the same with changes made to the width as requested by the OP.

It seems odd to request a shed the width of doubledoors and then be surprised that the doors aren't framed in panelling - there's no space to do that. OP should have requested a single door.

I would leave it white. Put a bench or chair next to it and some flower tubs.
