Does any one want to adopt me as their DIL?

I'm already a happy DD but I've temporarily had enough and I fancy a change of scenery. I come with a ready made DGS who is such a lovely and happy boy you won't be disappointed. I'm in my 30s good career very independent but love to spend time with others. I am a relatively good cook and will happily bake some sweet and savoury treats. Baby DS is 7mos and I guarantee will make you laugh and smile. So any takers?

Well I feel 90s party food would bring a lovely touch of nostalgia
I am grabbing the watsits and the skips

Might have to step away from the 90s drink or choice of 20/20 although that could lead to a remarkable adventure !

TheRealHousewife · 10/07/2020 20:51

@ChocolateBlock

I’d love a DIL and little grand baby to spoil. Come over, I’ll pop the kettle on. 😊

ChocolateBlock · 10/07/2020 20:53

@razey we'll modernise the picnic with current drinks. I'll pop to my DMs to pick up the picnic Tupperware and I'll even treat us to a moulded jelly bunny too. Whilst you're on the crisps I think a pack of party rings will also be required 😆

Cool! I like you more and more!

Babs709 · 10/07/2020 20:57

My friend may want to join your picnic if you’re happy to share your new MILs. I like mine but am feeling left out.. even more so after the talk of party rings.

ChocolateBlock · 10/07/2020 21:00

Thank you. I figure I'm going to be a mil (hopefully!) one day. I'd love to get on with my future Dil or son-in-law.

Ooh choose meee! I’m south coast, right age, 2 DIL’s and sons and grandchildren living abroad ( obv will give me a good reference as they live 7 and 5 hours flight away!) and one single son.
I love babies and chocolate in that order.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 10/07/2020 21:02

@ChocolateBlock I would like to adopt you, please. I have one DIL and I adore her. She is perfect, and I often think if I only had more DS's I would have more. AND now you appear. I love to eat treats, sweet or savory. I am vegetarian though. However, not vegan, so that's a plus.

I have a crib, highchair, lots of lovely toys, books and blankies. I have an ample bosom upon which a 7-month old could nap, and large knee for the rocking. I love to sing all sorts of silly songs. Terrible singer, but the sentiment carries the day. I do work FT from home, but DH is here, as is DCat, so you will be fine and not lonely. Your new SIL and boys will come visit and it will be one happy family. Please pick me. Please.

(does it matter that I am in America? I know, it does. Damn you Trump!)

ChocolateBlock · 10/07/2020 21:03

@Babs709 please grab a blanket and join in.

@TheRealHousewife great, I'll drink whatever you're having!

@ChocolateBlock if you are heading from Portsmouth, about 5 miles up and then left off the A3.

How long before you get here?

Have a veggie patch!!! Wine already open (and mostly drunk but more in the fridge)

Knittingnanny · 10/07/2020 21:03

Wrong! That’s the time distance away in hours! They live 14 and 8 hours flight away

FiveGoMadInDorset · 10/07/2020 21:04

Sadly nowhere near the A3 although South Coast but you sound like a fab friend in waiting and I love cuddling babies

Knittingnanny · 10/07/2020 21:05

Portsmouth!!!!!!!! Just by me
2018so far so great, I’ve got more toys than you...

ChocolateBlock · 10/07/2020 21:06

@2018SoFarSoGreat it's funny you say that I was going to put my plee out to overseas mils-to-be so it's great to hear from you. I'm not sure what is scarier at the moment though...Trump or CV19 but otherwise I'm good to book that plane ticket. DS will love an American accent.

OP posts:
Lolimax · 10/07/2020 21:06

Do you need any Welsh relatives?

2018SoFarSoGreat · 10/07/2020 21:08

@Knittingnanny oh no you don't. Oh wait. You maybe just do. Since lockdown, I carefully dole them out DGS's when they social distance visit. Never come back, oddly. AND I have LOTS of good credit and can buy more. AND I can knit.

Oh that is a bit mean. How about we get together and make a calendar of sharing our new SIL? We can be extended family and shall quit competing and get along swimmingly :0

giantangryrooster · 10/07/2020 21:11

Ooh, would love to adobt a dil and dgs. I think my dc would find it quite fun, they are not up for dc themselves yet, so I'm sure your ds would be spoiled rotten Grin.

Any chance you want to relocate to Scandinavian, where we live?

ChocolateBlock · 10/07/2020 21:13

@RedDiamond I'm actually laughing...it sounds like you might be my neighbour. Waves from the ville.

And @Knittingnanny

OP posts:
Knittingnanny · 10/07/2020 21:13

Haha! Ok 2018 I’m good at sharing, actually I’m being a bit greedy as I have a new grandchild due locally in 6 weeks, but there is always room for more.
Yes a lot of my puzzles have gone in socially distancing visits plus all of my board games.
By the way, chocolate, 2 of my grandchildren are American so I can teach your baby the accent.
I’m willing to job share the role,

2018SoFarSoGreat · 10/07/2020 21:14

@ChocolateBlock - will you be terribly sad if you get here and find that I am really a Scot? DH is also not an American. DCat is though. Born and bred. She'll make us shine :

Get a mask and babv mini mask for the flight. I can see the airport from my living room window (if they would trim those bloody trees) so shall wait for your signal to come pick you up.

Knittingnanny · 10/07/2020 21:14

Ville as in “Waterloo”????? Watched lots of cricket matches there with sons

ChocolateBlock · 10/07/2020 21:16

@giantangryrooster I can temporarily relocate. I'd love some time abroad. DS would love lots of new friends.

Nothing to add but I'm loving this thread 🥰

Happydinosaur53 · 10/07/2020 21:18

This is such a good idea. I'd love a different MIL. Mine hates me.

Knittingnanny · 10/07/2020 21:19

How will we audition for the role?
