Do you thank delivery drivers?

I always do but often get met with a confused look as they walk away, like it doesn’t happen normally.

Just now, knock on door, parcel on step and can over drive, I call out “thank you” and get “oh, erm you’re welcome” back!
Am I the only one?

Always

Isn't it just a reflex, someone hands you something you say thank you?

I wouldn't say it's particularly necessary for them to respond though

Snog · 07/07/2020 17:02

Yes of course

DustyMaiden · 07/07/2020 17:03

Yes always.

Bodgedboxdye · 07/07/2020 17:10

Yup, I always thank them.

They’re giving me presents from me, to me. Course I’m going to say thanks.

I’d also say thanks regardless hahah.

We have a tin of wrapped sweets in the porch with a sign for all delivery people to help themselves as a thank you, we usually are around to verbally thank them too.

It's basic manners to thank someone, I always have and always will. We've brought our boys up to do the same. I'd pull them up on it if they didn't.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 07/07/2020 17:56

Always! It’s just good manners.

Megatron · 07/07/2020 18:00

Why would you not?

notangelinajolie · 07/07/2020 18:02

Well yes, I do because it's good manners Hmm

Always. And to people working in shops, taxi drivers, waiting staff, bar staff, the bin men if I'm getting into my car as they pass my house. Common courtesy

Of course I say thanks, why wouldn't I?

imalittlethrowaway · 07/07/2020 18:06

I say thank you to everyone that’s done something for me. The most reason one is saying thank you to the people manning the doors in shops when they let me in!

StarlightLady · 07/07/2020 18:20

Always.

StandardPoodle · 07/07/2020 18:36

Always.

Lola001 · 07/07/2020 18:57

I can't imagine not thanking them, I think it would be more awkward not to.

Westnorwood · 07/07/2020 19:00

Of course, saying thank you hardly is high standard to hit.
