Best supermarket oven chips?

FawnDrench · 01/07/2020 16:11

As there seem to be far too many variations of oven chips to choose from, I am looking for your tried and tested recommendations please.

I prefer a chunkier chip, but would consider anything really.

Thanks.

They are tricky to cook though - fine line between soggy and too crispy.

@BlueLadybird

Aldi. The ones in the green bag.
Came on to say the same thing.

Oh I can help with this as I have made it my mission to find the best oven chips, and I did just that about a month ago!
Albert Bartlett, I prefer the fries but my dh prefers the crinkly (and I’ve just bought chunky today for the first time).
I can only seem to find them in Asda and they are not always in stock, so you have to get them when you can (unless you’re in my local Asda, please don’t buy them all Grin)

Lidl crinkle cut red bag. Until hearsay I would have said any they are surely much the same but I bought crinkle from Morrisons (clear bag) and they are 🤮

Aldi triple cooked beef dripping chips are very good, as are their skin on fries.
