A kick up the glutemus maximus to shift my butt and other healthy stuff

A fresh month beckons full of new opportunities... maybe... Grin

I've certainly found June to be a lethargic, demotivated, lardy sort of month, so who would like to join me in having a healthier July and a bit of public accountability for motivation?

Ultimately I'm aiming to move more and run further than my (personally) paltry 29k (bearing in mind I managed 68k in April and 100k+ in Jan Blush )

Anything healthier you want to achieve in July and need a bit of external motivation for, feel free to join in!

Time to get my running gear on and I'm going to drive somewhere flatter!
Totally lost the habit for driving to a different start point from early lockdown.

I will have a target of 50km for the month I think. In March I could run 30km in one go. Now I am fat and unfit, so time to get back on it!

NothingIsWrong · 01/07/2020 08:48

Also making sure I do 10k steps every day even if I'm not running

Took me bloody ages to find you!
I'm in. Found the charger for my fitness watch. I will either go for a run or walk to the post office today. Promise.
I'd like to manage a run or walk 3 times a week. Rather than 0 times, as in June! I'm hoping for an exercise bike for my birthday next month, if I ever make it to the beach I will go for a swim.

LethargicLumpOfLockdownLard · 01/07/2020 09:58

10k steps a day is a lot harder than I expected, I remember from when I was wearing the tracker every day. Even two school runs and a 5k run only just hit it. I was surprised. If I manage 10k three times a week I'll be impressed (doubt I did that in a whole week in June).

LethargicLumpOfLockdownLard · 01/07/2020 11:50

Text NDN to see if she wants to get back into running, we start tonight! Grin OK, it's a slow jog when we do it, but better than nothing. We got up to 5k with C25K then stopped before we got to do as race due to her having an injury and I was never one for doing it alone.
Company and exercise, I'll be giddy with endorphins!

FizzyPink · 01/07/2020 11:52

I’m in 🙋🏼‍♀️ I looked at myself naked last night in the mirror and was shocked at how much weight I’ve put on.

Pre lockdown I was doing a gym class most days plus an hour walking to work and back and now I literally sit on the sofa working all day. The most exercise I do is hoovering the flat.

From today I’m going to go for a walk or do a YouTube workout every day starting with a post office trip at lunchtime and a wander to Sainsbury’s after work

FizzyPink · 01/07/2020 11:53

Oh and I also need to stop with the mid morning and mid afternoon biscuits. I’m not even hungry, it’s just something to pass the time!

BogRollBOGOF · 01/07/2020 19:31

I did get myself out of the house and did 5k with Laura on one of the C25k+ podcasts Smile

July 1st ✅ (25% of my way through my prowess in June Grin)

I've had a tendency to that too. And I've never had so much ice cream, but then being at home, I don't have the proximity to a toilet issue that I normally do.

There have been days of boredom picking just for a bit of sensory stimulation.

I'm in (although currently in Pjs having avoided a run again)

Mascotte · 01/07/2020 20:38

Lockdown torpor has struck me. But this week I'm getting back into it. Been to PT and doing circuits with dc. Need to cover 26.2 miles for my Samaritans challenge so need to get off my fat old arse and move. Going to run in the morning regardless of weather. I say run, more old lady jog.

Did 3 mile walk with NDN, we weren't brave enough for more than a brief jogas it's been so long, but also we were too busy chatting (or sweary ranting in my case!).

That sounds wonderfully theraputic Smile

The month is young!
There's always 7 minutes of Adriene's bedtime yoga that's perfect for pajamas Wink

I think for day 2, active rest doing some yoga with Adriene as I'm feeling last night's kettlebells repeating on me ( I have an outdoor small training group featuring real people. It's amazing, and I'd enjoy it anyway) and possibly look up Mr Motivators Daily Dozen 12 minute session. I found those quite good in April before my mojo crept quietly away...

Just did a 10k cycle on the exercise bike while the toddler is napping... starting small!

BogRollBOGOF · 02/07/2020 16:19

Awesom Driving. I need to get off my butt. The most exercise I've had so far is chasing up and downstairs to check on DS2 (not) putting his clothes away Grin

Mascotte · 02/07/2020 17:09

Ok, so I've dragged my fat lazy butt out on a fifteen minute walk/jog in the country. Drove somewhere quiet to save embarrassment. Wasn't really feeling it as I was awake all night pretty much, but glad I went!

Trying to psyche myself up for more in tomorrow's predicted downpour.

BogRollBOGOF · 02/07/2020 17:25

Think of it as multi-tasking exercise in the shower Grin I don't mind warm rain. Cold, winter rain is something else!

Mission accomplished. I've rendez-voused with Mr Motivator and Adriene.
I like his for a short easy mover. I'm not keen on HITT at home, I can find it quite jarring. I've done 2x 10 mins with Adriene and oof, I can feel Tuesday. I'm glad I wasn't more ambitious!

3rd July
Aiming for yoga, and a shortish, easy run/ walk.
Still have tired muscles.

BogRollBOGOF · 03/07/2020 15:18

4 gentle miles of run/walking done.
Good escapusm ready for the dreaded home schooling battles.

I've done a circuit with my ds. How tf is an ageing chubby woman supposed to do a burpee..? 😂😂

BogRollBOGOF · 03/07/2020 17:09

Badly? Grin
You could put your hands on a lower surface like a chair or step to be less brutal.
Or just slowly walk them out?
Burpees are evil.

Mascotte · 03/07/2020 17:17

😂badly is right! I'm like a sea lion. I think it shows my dedication to fitness and motherhood that I've tried though 😂😂

*my child may be scarred for life by seeing this though.

Well done on the run/walk. Going to make that my goal for tomorrow.
