A kick up the glutemus maximus to shift my butt and other healthy stuff

A fresh month beckons full of new opportunities... maybe... Grin

I've certainly found June to be a lethargic, demotivated, lardy sort of month, so who would like to join me in having a healthier July and a bit of public accountability for motivation?

Ultimately I'm aiming to move more and run further than my (personally) paltry 29k (bearing in mind I managed 68k in April and 100k+ in Jan Blush )

Anything healthier you want to achieve in July and need a bit of external motivation for, feel free to join in!

Can I join please? Aiming for 150k this month. Just walking, not running due to dodgy knees. Hoping to shift some weight, at least 10 pounds.

Did 6k on the first, hoping to do another 10k tonight.

Managed 13k. So total July atm = 19k

Is this thread still going?

I did 10k tonight.

Welcome in! Grin All encouragement to move is a good thing.

Yesterday was a good one, I went for a walk run for 9.5 miles, further than I've been for a while. I saw playgrounds having their locks cut off, ran down to the city centre, saw open pubs, back out past parks, through an industrial area, through a village just separated by enough fields from the city and back home via a few fields and woods. I love the way that route has something of everything.

My legs are definitely missing months of being straightened up and ironed out at the osteopath, one of the reasons why I tailed off in May/ June as there's always some niggle.

Not a good night, only managed 8.5k

Fucking lockdown has made me so unfit. Been trying to get back to PT but went this morning and tweaked my back... aaargh! The thing that helps it is proper weight training which I can't do because of all this. Fed up.

Hope others doing better!

BogRollBOGOF · 08/07/2020 20:10

I'm still going!
8 mile walk on Sunday
5.5k walk on Monday
5k run Tues morning plus outdoor fitness class in evening.
Parked a mile out from town, walked in, around town and back to car today.

I am feeling more myself than I was through all of June. Mentally and in my legs and glutes Grin

Still not got out for a run 🤦‍♀️. Walking a bit but not as much as start of lockdown though. More effort needed this weekend

Mascotte · 11/07/2020 11:49

Played tennis with my boy a few times and PT going better! It's inspired me to eat slightly better too. So going in the right direction.
