Any ideas please? She's very quirky and studious, a self confessed gaming geek girl and she's about to turn 13.

She is obsessed with art but has everything - copic pens etc however she's only interested in graphic drawing on the iPad - and she has a new iPad, Apple Pencil, keyboard etc so sorted there

She's very into gaming but has an Xbox , gaming headset and Beats headphones. She has money on her Microsoft and Apple accounts but doesn't spend it. Had raspberry pi thing but doesn't use it

She isn't interested in clothes or fashion nor does she need an iPhone or anything as already has one she doesn't use. Doesn't want an Apple type watch. Has a Costa gift card.

Any ideas at all please? She's so unassuming that all she's asked for is a pencil case that costs £1 which she can have of course but it's not very much!

Wireless speaker?

ChipstickCharlie · 29/06/2020 11:26

Thanks for that suggestion - already has one!

Something to make her room really nice - especially if she’s currently spending lots more time in there?

Already done the bedroom thing - she has a desk she wanted and a double bed with nice throw and cushions and duvet and lamp etc etc

Told you she was difficult Grin

Loads of nice bath bombs and soaps etc to try out and experiment with.

Hamper of all her favourite sweets or a selection of sweets etc from a country she likes - E.g. US or Japan.

Puffalicious · 29/06/2020 11:32

Does she need her bedroom decorated? I just did my 13 yr old DS's room and we had brilliant fun choosing things, painting, upcycling. He's super arty too so we have one plain white wall where he's going to draw to his heart's content (cartooning). We did it because it was due but he used birthday money for limited edition prints he fancied and these LED coloured lights for around the ceiling that they're all into.

Elouera · 29/06/2020 11:32

Might be a little of fashioned, but depends what she likes:

  • calligraphy set
  • card/crafty kit
  • screen printing set
  • make your own lip gloss/bath bomb kit
  • meccano/electronics type set to put together
  • an experience of some sort- trip in a glider, zorbing, cooking lesson?
ChipstickCharlie · 29/06/2020 11:33

Great suggestions but she had a Japanese snack box for a while and didn't like the taste of the foods and wasn't hugely bothered. Had a Lush hamper for Xmas - not at all bothered

New pet and all the things it needs? Also good in times of spending more time at home at the moment?

ChipstickCharlie · 29/06/2020 11:35

All art stuff is very firmly done on the iPad so she wouldn't use art supplies outside of this although she has it all. Bedroom doesn't need doing.

An experience is an idea ..

Sorry, just seen you've recently done her room!

ChipstickCharlie · 29/06/2020 11:37

Has two kittens we got last year!

Impossible isn't it? Grin She's not awkward or anything - she really would be delighted with a £1 pencil case but she needs more than that! She has autism and some anxiety issues which manifested itself in her not wanting to be any bother to anyone! We will be getting her a takeaway of her choice and immediately she wanted to choose one that everyone would like

Ooooh, this is difficult!

Would she like stuff from her favourite games? Eg I know you said she doesn’t like clothes in terms of fashion, but would she like a hoodie with fav characters on? Or Funko Pops?

Puffalicious · 29/06/2020 11:37

Trip after lockdown? My other DS wants a weekend to Rome for his 16th.

ChipstickCharlie · 29/06/2020 11:38

Funko pops may be a possibility! I'll look into that

She sounds lovely!

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 29/06/2020 11:38

A gaming chair?

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 29/06/2020 11:39

How about Hue fairy lights for her room if she has an Alexa dot? (Or an Alexa dot if she doesn't have one!)

Puffalicious · 29/06/2020 11:39

Yes, a cool hoodie for her favourite game. A nice, thick, soft one.

Puffalicious · 29/06/2020 11:41

Experience- would she like Harry Potter or a gaming expo?

WeAllHaveWings · 29/06/2020 11:41

Does she have a bank account? Put £50/£100 in the £1 pencil case, get her a nice cake, make her favourite dinner/takeaway, watch her favourite movie and make a fuss.

She can put the money in the bank and it is there next time she wants art supplies or ready for when a new game comes out. We do this with ds, no point in buying for the sake of it if there is nothing she wants right now but there could be something she really wants later in the year. He keeps his money for the new fifa in September.

ChipstickCharlie · 29/06/2020 11:42

The funko pop has been ordered!!! She has a favourite character on Overwatch and there's a pop in her character. Thank you!!! Also found a key ring to match so she will like that

ChipstickCharlie · 29/06/2020 11:46

And yes to the echo show with hue bulb. She had a dot but the show is something different altogether . Amazing

Thank you all!!

SquitMcJit · 29/06/2020 11:48

Hooray! Sounds great.

How about getting the £1 pencil case and filling it with something unexpected? I’d usually say £1 coins - but I suspect that’s a bit useless at the moment... her favourite penny sweets or chocolate bars ( eg 10 flakes, if that’s what she likes). Or how about Candy Kittens sweets, as you have kittens/cats - tasty and available on Amazon?

ChipstickCharlie · 29/06/2020 11:51

Great idea! Money pointless as she has plenty and just isn't bothered about spending it! Filling it's with candy kittens is an excellent idea
