I have 10 pairs. 2 for exercise and 8 for just general wearing. I don't think I have had anything but trainers on my feet since March.

What can I say, I like comfort? If that makes me a chav so be it.

googlyf · 28/06/2020 23:30

Absolutely none! Because I'm a woman, I'm not into fitness nor am I chav!

No you're obviously a bell end who doesn't understand fashion.

TravellingSpoon · 28/06/2020 23:33

Well I must be a 'certain type of woman'

I have quite a few pairs, but my faves are my grey and purple Nike Flex. I wear these for work as I need to be comfortable but we dont have a uniform so an wear what we like.

I've got two pairs, some Asics and then some Toms style trainers.

XFPW · 28/06/2020 23:42

I think 7

  • Nike for running
  • old Nike - too worn out for running so used for walking now instead
  • Nike Roshe - that I actually don’t like as much as I used to so they tend to only be worn when it’s wet or I’m going tramping through a field.
  • Mustard yellow Sainsburys TU knit trainer - unbelievably comfortable and look great with black skinnies
  • white and gold superga
  • Chuck II Converse
  • Converse boat shoe style
  • Pair of Veja en route as we speak - really hoping they’re as lovely in real life as they are online
  • Also need a new pair of runners - once I get them I will likely retire the other old pair and swap in my new ones.
XFPW · 28/06/2020 23:45

I work in a school as support staff. On my feet all day, except when on my knees clearing out cupboards or sorting equipment! I wear TOMS, trainers or ballet flats. At the weekend I do occasionally wear heels but more likely to be heeled boots than fancy heels as my life is too boring to go anywhere requiring nice shoes. (Although I own plenty)

CuppaZa · 28/06/2020 23:51

4 pairs. One of which are gym trainers

gingerbreadslice · 29/06/2020 00:02

@BatonRouge You sound like me. What do you think of 98s? I find them so comfy but more tighter than 97s

heymammy · 29/06/2020 00:06

I have 7 pairs I think:

Burgundy new balance
Navy new balance
Black leather fly London
Leopard print Reebok's
Weird black Adidas that I don't really like
Black Nike runners
Dirty white leather champion's that really need thrown away

I love trainers and really hold back on buying them or else I'd have hundreds of pairs and not enough days to wear them!

squeekums · 29/06/2020 00:47

I adore globe sneakers. I have 3 pairs. Waiting for sales to get more lol, no need, just want
Have probably 3 or 4 other brand pairs too

VetOnCall · 29/06/2020 02:04

Buy the shoes! I have an embarrassing number of trainers, I have an obsession with running and hiking/approach shoes. In my defence I run and hike all the time and pretty much live in trainers, although some of them get a lot more use than others. I can list them so you can feel less bad about buying just one more pair Grin

4 pairs of Salomon XA Pro 3D GTX hiking trainers of varying colours/ages/states of wear
1 pair of Salomon XA Pro 3D (non GTX) hiking trainers
1 pair of Salomon Speedcross 4 trail runners
1 pair of Scarpa Spin Ultra trail runners
1 pair of Saucony Peregrine trail runners
1 pair of La Sportiva Bushido II mountain running shoes
1 pair of La Sportiva Akyra mountain running shoes
1 pair of On Cloud Cloudswift road runners
1 pair of Hoka One One Rincon road runners
1 pair of Hoka One One Clifton road runners
1 pair of Hoka One One Speedgoat trail runners
1 pair of Hoka One One Evo Mafate trail runners
1 pair of Arc'teryx Konseal approach shoes
1 pair of Nike Pegasus road runners
1 pair of New Balance 1080 road runners
1 pair of Reebok Nano Crossfit trainers
1 pair of On Cloud Cloudace cross training shoes
1 pair of Zamberlan hiking shoes
1 pair of La Sportiva Boulder X approach shoes
1 pair of 5:10 Guide Tennie approach shoes
1 pair of Adidas Gazelles
1 pair of Adidas Stan Smiths
1 pair of New Balance 373
2 pairs of Converse Chuck Taylors

1 pair of Veja Esplar

lollipop998 · 29/06/2020 06:24

I have about 15 pairs, but by the sounds of it @Dougalthesyrianhamster i have about 30 years on you so get into this century and the real world 😂

fantasmasgoria1 · 29/06/2020 06:56

I don't have any actual trainers. I have a couple of pairs of pumps, many pairs of shoes and boots but no actual trainers.

ProtectAll · 29/06/2020 07:02

Get the 2nd colour, I have my favourite trainers in 3 colours, all black for days when I want to be comfy at work, grey for general wear and white for dress and smart days.
I am like this with shoes too I have my favourite sandals in 4 colours, boots in 2 and winter shoes in 3.

CottonSock · 29/06/2020 07:04

I have my favourite in 2 colours, navy and black for different jeans.

Bloomburger · 29/06/2020 07:07

Slightly embarrassed but I wear them for work, socialising and exercising (so need different trainers for different sports).

Mostly Air & Grace, Nike & ASICS.

homemadecommunistrussia · 29/06/2020 07:10

Converse black low
Converse red high
Nike AF1s high
Nike AF1s low for work
Some navy non branded trainers also for work
Keen tornados
Maybe I need more?Wink

mynameiscalypso · 29/06/2020 07:11

@homemadecommunistrussia This thread is definitely making me think I need more!

Ifailed · 29/06/2020 07:16

to summarise, some people wear trainers for actual training, some people wear them because they are comfortable and some people look down on those who wear them.

Bettercallgall · 29/06/2020 07:19

I have one pair and they are my only shoes.

NathanNathan · 29/06/2020 07:19

Brookes runners
2 x Adidas continental
1 x Nike Air Force 1

I have to resist more...

MayFayre · 29/06/2020 07:21

4, all the same (the only ones that fit my weird feet).

2 for indoor training/gym, allowing me to wear them on alternate days
2 for outdoor training, again alternate days

OxanaVorontsova · 29/06/2020 07:24

Buy the trainers @lockdownrainbow! I have a battered pair of Stan Smiths that I wear for walking the dog, a pair of navy converse I rarely wear, yellow suede from RI years ago that I love but never wear, ancient satiny converse type from Boden that I really like and a new pair of Vejas that I’m determined to look after.

OxanaVorontsova · 29/06/2020 07:25

And a pair of Brooks for running

UltimateWednesday · 29/06/2020 07:31

Six pairs of running shoes with varying degrees of cushioning/support according the event/distance and rotated so they can recover between runs, trail running shoes, cross country studs, an older pair of runners for cycling, gym trainers (running shoes not be ruined by wearing for other activities!), walking trainers, 4 pairs of "fashion" trainers worn as comfortable casual shoes in various colours and fabrics to suit the weather/time of year, a pair of leather baseball boots (are they trainers?)

Actually, I knew it's a lot but that's more than I realised! Apart from work, I rarely wear any other shoes
