Do you still have a rainbow in your window?

We do but I'm a bit fed up not being able to see out properly! I notice most people's are still up. When will you take it down if not already? I'm nhs front line worker. I don't think any key workers are going to be offended that I am not appreciating them because I'm removing our rainbows. Not sure what but something stopping me doing it. Maybe superstitious that there will be another wave and lockdown as ridiculous as that sounds Grin

Yes, but it’s faded so I might take it down (when I can be bothered).

Jedstre · 28/06/2020 19:32

I took mine down once we stoppped clapping. Both DH and I NHS.

Fruitbowlflowers · 28/06/2020 19:32

I took ours down about 3 weeks ago.

MissRabbitIsExhausted · 28/06/2020 19:33

We do too but it's getting faded, I took it down last week to wash the windows and wasn't going to put it back up but then I ended up putting it back up. Think it would be easier to take down if everyone else in the street didn't have theirs up 😂

Wingingthis · 28/06/2020 19:33

Mine fell down a couple of weeks ago (blue tac gave up 😂) and I left it down

SimonJT · 28/06/2020 19:33

Yes, but we always have one up, so we’re used to that bit of window being obscured.

Sadly a lot of my sons ‘blew away’...

Dementedswan · 28/06/2020 19:33

No, I took it down as it was faded. The kids have enough school work to do so they didnt want to do another

Spudlet · 28/06/2020 19:35

Yes, but we’re planning on redecorating next weekend so its days are numbered. We also have a home-made sign that DS painted and built with DH outside, which we’ll probably move at some point soon too as I’m going to be painting the fence this week.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 28/06/2020 19:49

We have one that says 'Sack Cummings' on it. Think the moment has passed.

Yeah I feel like I just want to move on and start a new out of lockdown phase. I know we're not totally out but nearly there.

I took the ones from DGC down after having them on living room window for what seems like forever. I just felt things has moved on somehow.

RefuseTheLies · 28/06/2020 20:38

I took ours down when lockdown started easing off.

wendz86 · 28/06/2020 20:40

Ours were fading and i finally got round to cleaning windows so took them down yesterday.

RosieLemonade · 28/06/2020 21:12

I’m going to take them down this evening. I find them a bit jarring now. Like a Christmas tree in January. They seem outdated and we seem to be past that part of our lives now.

dementedpixie · 28/06/2020 21:14

I've never had one up

BogRollBOGOF · 28/06/2020 21:15

We never did them. The only crafty my DCs do is thinking of novel excuses to avoid being in bed Grin

They are petering out around here.

hauntedvagina · 28/06/2020 21:31

Took ours down. We now have tape marks in the window. I plan to replace the tape marks with Christmas lights.

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 28/06/2020 21:33

Mines still up but its only a little crocheted one. Plus it's in DS' bedroom window so I don't even see it Grin

morethanafortnight · 28/06/2020 21:33

We never had one, but several neighbours still do.

wanderings · 28/06/2020 21:37

I think they've been up more than long enough, especially if they say "stay home". That message is old news. And, very sadly, I see them as symbolic of children unable to see their friends, family, play in playgrounds, go to school, and do many other things.

"Sack Cummings" - brilliant. Perhaps I'll do a rainbow that says "Boris said twelve weeks". It's been fourteen and counting, and there's still no light at the end of the tunnel for many sectors. If lockdown is supposedly for the health of the nation, why are the pubs (paragons of public health and civility) opening on 4th July, and not the gyms and swimming pools?

Sorry, missed the point of the thread.

marly11 · 28/06/2020 21:44

Desperately want them down. It's my room that I don't usually have kids stuff/pics in. And I don't want to think about Covid, Lockdown or any of that stuff unless I can help it. But I tried to take one down last week and DS3 got very upset so it looks like I've got them for the duration...

TwoZeroTwoZero · 28/06/2020 22:04

It faded in the sunlight so I took it down a couple of weeks ago.

Deelish75 · 28/06/2020 22:10

Never had one up, but if we did I'd have taken it down when the schools started to reopen more - that's when it felt like life was starting to get a bit more back to normal.

midnightstar66 · 28/06/2020 22:13

Yes but they were done with glass pens and I've a feeling they will be hard work to remove so been putting it off. The rainbows and other glass artwork does look quite nice Tbf
