Encased within a Peldon bubble to give gravity and breathable air if it meant no moons or real stars, and weird weather??

There needs to be a rightmove thing for planets so you can link OP.

Then everyone can have a proper look and post WTF is that weird thing in the 6th picture

[quote AlCalavicci]If it's in a protective bubble how do we get in without losing oxygen?
Is there a aeroplane size air lock our some sort of tube slide we whizz down from earth to there.

What happens if the bubble gets a puncture ?

No thank you. I’d rather be a space pirate and prowl the inter-galactic shipping routes.

An O Neill cylinder would be way cooler. Zero g fun at the axis.

ErrolTheDragon · 28/06/2020 00:25

Why not a Dyson sphere? (Similar concept but as I understand it, it will clean up DCat's shed fur and biscuit crumbs, and dry our hands and hair quickly)

Ishihtzuknot · 28/06/2020 01:01

Will this hypothetical new planet be flat too? Wink

I’d rather sink with the ship tbh, my fear of heights wouldn’t get me to the next airport from my local, never mind into space.

ErrolTheDragon · 28/06/2020 01:03

Well, yes, obviously a flat planet would be ideal. Grin

StarlightLady · 28/06/2020 09:28

The planet is called Centerparcs, isn’t it? Grin

SleepingStandingUp · 28/06/2020 11:50

Not flat, it would be an actual planet or moon converted for use..

Enjoy your new life as a seabeing.

OP posts:
SleepingStandingUp · 28/06/2020 11:51

No. Flat. Planets.

Def not Centre Parcs

Ok so its shread proof and puncture proof and we offer cheeses to the female (right ?) creator .
I would like the storms to be a s predicted time so I can avoid been stood at a bus stop unlike last week .

I presume we can bring our pets with us but are there going to be alianpets we can adopt too ? what are they ?
And what kind of place is it ?
rudimentary ; no tec at all - No m'waves , washers , cars, phones, tvs .
Basic , tec that we had 40 ish years ago, cars tvs washers but not mobile phones ,ipads , laptops
or state of the art where you never have to lift a finger to do anything it is all automated

I cant decide which I would prefer . . . .

can we have the plant split into zones to please all ?

steppemum · 28/06/2020 12:20

@SleepingStandingUp

Because the earth would be under water with 3 decades and this is quicker than terrafirming the planet
but it won't. Large chunks may be, but loads of places won't. I won't be moving to Holland any day soon (as my dh is Dutch, that isn't as flippant as it sounds) But when we bought our house, 10 year sago, we seriously thoguht about climate change and flooding, and I don't think we are going to be under water.
steppemum · 28/06/2020 12:22

as for tech, I'm not going if there aren't washing machines Grin

Erm, the creator is DH. He suddenly asked over dinner if I'd live on a planet in a bubble and I was curious if I'd have to live alone.

Erm no alien pets. We chose a planet previoaulyde oid of life rather than being the conquering invaders.

Futuristic tech. We just took a bareen planet and made it livable. You can have microwaves etc.

Robot pets, like in AI so they look real. You can design your own but they're all benign.

How about some zones like Westworld with less death?

OP posts:
SleepingStandingUp · 28/06/2020 12:29

@steppemum if it's realistic that my husband, artist and IT WORKER can take a barren planet and put a bubble around it so we can live on it in thirty years, it's relasitic that the entire planet apart from POSSIBLY some bare mountain tops will be underwater.

OP posts:
TheVanguardSix · 28/06/2020 12:29

So do we get a planetary flag and an anthem? Are barbeques allowed?
When I look up at this 'peldon bubble' sky, will I actually see Ed Harris? Can we request Tom Hanks instead? He's more cosy.
Will there be a Star Trek convention? Or a Wall-E one? I'd settle for The Orville.
So many questions. Will we get a new bible?

Can it have a core that is made of sensible useable space? Storage/ transport tubes etc rather than pointless magma.
