Bournemouth beach - “Major incident”

BebeGlazer · 25/06/2020 15:07

The local police and council have now declared that Bournemouth beach is scene of “major incident” because people will not stay away. Overcrowding, littering, desperately dangerous parking.

Please, please, think kindly before travelling to small seaside towns at the moment. We cannot cope.

Exactly! We've never had a prop ken with people visiting but driving her from the other side of the country in the middle of a pandemic, not respecting social distancing, parking, hygiene, laws, basic common decency, fighting, abusing council staff and stabbings are not on. No one would welcome the sort of behaviour we have had down here in their home town. Beach or not. It's not okay.

Pasghetti · 26/06/2020 15:28

The pictures of this going round the world have made England look utterly absurd.

Yes, it's embarrassing.

But also embarrassing when I think that these are the people who would probably be in Spain or some other hot country on holiday this time of year. And if people are doing this in their own country, I bet you they are also doing it overseas.

@SquirtleSquad

Oh great *@BostonCheers* is back with their "not ideal" "unfortunate" "regrettable" "minor" minimisation of the issues.

Oh how unfortunate that there was a London gang fight and multiple stabbings. I know it's not ideal but hey ho they might have bought a Mr Whippy so take it up the arse you ungrateful Bournemouth cunts.

Fuck off!

Lol! I agree with this message! 😆

This made me laugh.

I do wish Bostoncheers would tell us where she lives so we can go shit in her front garden. I'll pop a £5 note through the door afterwards so I'm sure she'll be OK with it.

BostonCheers · 26/06/2020 15:46

@wildone84

You're making it sounds like thousands of people just walked into people's gardens and did a shit on the grass. That didn't happen.

A small number of individuals unfortunately did defecate and urinate in places that were not ideal, such as behind sheds and others took the regrettable decision to dispose of bottles of urine in gardens because bins were full.

So clearly not behaviour that should be encouraged but it's not as if every garden in Bournemouth became an open air public toilet.

Mymycherrypie · 26/06/2020 15:49

The thing is that I do think people should be cut some slack, but slack is having a few drinks and being allowed some old luxuries. Slack isn’t stabbing people and leaving a dump on someone’s house. Unless they were your previous little treats to yourself, which makes you a life long scumbag and not just a tourist one.

botedbored · 26/06/2020 15:50

As a Londoner who likes to visit coastal areas as a tourist Id rather not go if I'm surrounded by dicks who can't clean their crap up. Of course locals can be protective off their areas.

wildone84 · 26/06/2020 15:53

I'm getting tired of hearing the words regrettable and unfortunate.

wildone84 · 26/06/2020 15:53

Instead, how about, disgusting and unacceptable?

Mymycherrypie · 26/06/2020 15:57

So a few small shits are ok as long as it wasn’t everyone’s garden.

Just call a spade a spade and stop trying to make this about money or the actual level of shit left in people’s gardens.

It’s a healthy thing to recognise bad behaviour in others and openly call it that, instead of trying to excuse the inexcusable. Under no circumstances is it ok to leave your poo in someone’s garden. It is ok to be caught short and dispose of your poo responsibly. It is not regrettable if you do not do that, it is below the levels of acceptability for a civilised society and can be called that.

Mymycherrypie · 26/06/2020 16:00

Speaking honesty here, Boston, I think you need to work on your own grasp of what is reasonable behaviour and what isn’t, and how much you are willing to let go. There’s no way someone with normal standards of cleanliness or social responsibility should or would accept human excrement in gardens. Even animal excrement left in the open results in a fine.

Why are you so keen to make this ok?

SquirtleSquad · 26/06/2020 16:03

@wildone84 and "not ideal" Grin it's like a game of wanker bingo now.

botedbored · 26/06/2020 16:06

@boston is obvs a fan of al fresco pooping

differentnameforthis · 26/06/2020 16:10

@LudaMusser

Very concerning
We have people commenting here (Australia) that it [your photo didn't attach] was photoshopped, because they didn't believe it.
BostonCheers · 26/06/2020 16:10

@mymycherrypie

I haven't said any of the defecation in public is okay- any incident where someone has done the toilet in a garden or disposed of the offending material inappropriately is regrettable and I would go as far as calling some of what happened very disappointing.

SquirtleSquad · 26/06/2020 16:12

Much better

Bournemouth beach - “Major incident”
wildone84 · 26/06/2020 16:20

Oh that looks nice. I take it that's not Bournemouth beach :D

Mymycherrypie · 26/06/2020 16:29

Now that really was disappointing. 1/10.

MrsSpenserGregson · 26/06/2020 16:40

@Gulabjamoon

When it’s open though. When it’s not open it’s just mess.

Did the council warn people to stay away?

Yes, BCP (Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole) Council has been begging people to stay away since BoJo first told people that they could travel an unlimited distance from their homes. It's all over their website and social media and has been for weeks.
Needmoresleep · 26/06/2020 17:19

You're not part of the problem and I'm sure anyone would agree. I think this petition might be more to do with the pandemic and the hoards descending when there isn't the services in place for them at this time.

Wildin84, I am finding this thread and similar on my Fb really offensive. I am lovely, honest. As a number of restauranteurs, tradespeople, farmworkers and small businesses can attest.

My mother had property which I rented out, and the tenants would confirm that I was a good and fair landlord. But no. Smug Dorset people think I should stay in London. Yes, they think they van visit London when they want. But they don't want me near their town. Perhaps Dorsxit. Dorset breaking away from the UK.

Also contrary to popular belief, it is not normal to poo in each othets front Gardens. At least I don't thinks so but then I dont have a front garden. Or back one either.

SquirtleSquad · 26/06/2020 17:27

@wildone84 Avon Beach this evening. This morning the council put a "car park full" sign up there and people took it away and the queue was huge but as soon as the weather cooled this evening and the clouds didn't pass it soon cleared!

SquirtleSquad · 26/06/2020 17:31

@Needmoresleep no, I wouldn't come to London for a day trip during the pandemic and join mass crowds in the parks and attribute to mass stretching and stress of the local resources. Never had a problem with visitors before the pandemic and won't after it's all passed but at the moment it's ridiculous to travel across the country to go to the sodding beach (it would be equally ridiculous for us to travel to London for a day out too - it is not a one sided thing).
