Ds8 and DD3 are both wide awake....DD is chattering away to herself. At least DS is quiet.....go to bed!

Dd's 7 and 9 are still out having water fights so yes. No idea when bed time will be here!

Poochnewbie · 24/06/2020 20:42

Mine haven’t had a proper bed time for months. They’re just roaming wild. I’ll drag them in and scrape the mud off them at some point. May even hose them down before bed...

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 24/06/2020 20:46

Dd3 is blissfully unconcious, went to sleep beautifully at 7.30.

DS 11months, (I assume its the heat as he wouldn't settle last night either) is being a total terror!! Dh spent from 7 to 8 trying to settle him, now it's my go, I'm sat on the chair we bought for his room and he's alternately whining and playing with blocks 🤦‍♀️ I was hoping for a lone walk after getting them to sleep after a hellish day at work! Not happening haha

Redwinestillfine · 24/06/2020 20:46

Yes. My ds (6) is drawing quietly in his room. My Dd (8) is getting up every 25 minutes to come and tell me she can't sleep Confused. I am taking her back to bed and refusing to engage like she's a toddler Angry. She has a fan, books, headphones, meditations..... She's properly regressed. This is the third week on the trot.....I just want my evenings back.

Simonfromharlow · 24/06/2020 20:49

Yes 😑

leasedaudi · 24/06/2020 20:52

Some fuckwit neighbour is doing diy and hammering concrete (?) in his front yard. It's hot and we are in terraced houses in London. windows are open to prevent heatstroke. Thanks for keeping my kids awake, wanker.

orangejuicer · 24/06/2020 20:54

I.HATE.THIS.WEATHER.

Piixxiiee · 24/06/2020 20:55

Yes ds 4 and dd6 are intermittently calling out that they cant sleep then giggling and chatting. They're in school tomorrow, we're in work so im sure it will be a hectic morning with tired kids and a long hot drag until tomorrow bedtime!

tempnamechange98765 · 24/06/2020 20:57

Ugh yes 16 month old DS whose bedroom is at the front of the house and gets the sun all day! He is usually a good sleeper, needs the odd little settle early on in the evening but otherwise sleeps 7-7am. I'm not looking forward to tonight.

Carycy · 24/06/2020 21:02

All three of mine under 7. I want to go to bed!

Stuckforthefourthtime · 24/06/2020 21:04

Yes! And worst still, my late sleepers are both awake but my 2 early risers went to bed early, so we'll be busy at all ends of the day 😭

purpleme12 · 24/06/2020 21:07

Mine, 6 has been going to sleep stupidly late. Sometimes as late as half 10. It's been since school ended although she's back at school now. I thought that would help but it hasn't.
I've been putting her to bed later because I know she won't go to sleep when I used to!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 24/06/2020 21:08

DS sleeps fine in this weather. Me, on the other hand... Angry

DonaldJTrumpet · 24/06/2020 21:11

@Poochnewbie and I have similar parenting styles. Although frankly, you need to be careful about mollycoddling them if you do hose them down. Wouldn't want them to get used to such a luxury!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 24/06/2020 21:16

Mines just been hosed down after a very muddy bike ride. He now goes to bed later than me. Monday I lost my head as he kept coming in while I was trying to sleep.

midnightstar66 · 24/06/2020 21:22

Mine probably should be hosed down, they were out on the ponies at the crack of dawn, we've walked miles, visited family and water fight still on going in street now (maybe that will clean them) not sure how to feel about people frustrated that an 8 year old wasn't asleep an hour ago - envy maybe? - but then what time are they up? We don't need to do ponies tomorrow so can sleep til 7.30

Doordine · 24/06/2020 21:26

Meeeeeee
2 year old finally off.
4 year old just requested ANOTHER banana.

WarmthAndDepth · 24/06/2020 21:28

No point in putting mine to bed yet (6 and 10). Normally both in bed at 8, but they hate the heat so went for a walk in the woods where it was cool, just came home for a cool shower and a bowl of ice cream, and we'll try bed at 10 when it's cooler.

Timeforabiscuit · 24/06/2020 21:42

12 and 10 years old, they should be so past this by now!!

Chartsandgraphs · 24/06/2020 21:48

DS is still up and down....I've gone super nanny back to bed style because it's nearly 10 and I'm done!

Poetryinaction · 24/06/2020 21:49

I think my 6 year old has just dropped off. Finally!

happytoday73 · 24/06/2020 21:51

Yes... My eldest has just been in to dramatically announce he is going to get absolutely no sleep tonight...

Xiaoxiong · 24/06/2020 21:54

I had to get both of mine to have a cool shower to wet their hair, then lie in their pants on their beds with no sheets or duvet, and I wiped them all over with a wet flannel and then folded it up and put it on their foreheads and told them not to move or the flannel would fall off and get their pillows wet. They fell asleep quite quickly once they weren't moving and restless!

I grew up in a hot humid country and remember suffocatingly hot nights where the air con didn't work for some reason. I try all the tricks I remember from childhood - wet your head, lie under a wet sheet, wet flannel on your chest and forehead, aim a fan at your wet feet...

JewelTheft · 24/06/2020 22:00

Yes, mine are. 7 and 9. 7 YO just came downstairs to see what I was doing. Trying to relax with a glass of white in the garden. GO BACK TO BED. Sigh.

lucysmam · 24/06/2020 22:01

Ummm;mine are awake because I kind of got settled with a glass of wine & my book, then scrolling cutting mats on amazon, then eating a slice of jam & coconut tart, and kind of forgot to shout up to them.

I realised the time about 10 mins ago & gave them a 20 mins bed time warning.

Dd2 will probably get me up at some stupid hour though because it's hot!
