What is your trigger food?

As in, the one that you have NO self control when it comes to eating it.

Mine is crisps, specifically salt & vinegar but tbh most crisps will do it for me. I can't just have one packet if I have a multipack, or part of a big 'sharing my bag. I've learnt through bitter experience that if I buy them, I will eat them until they're all gone. I have no self control 😞

Nothing else has quite the same effect, in fact I could quite happily go weeks or even months without eating many other things (chocolate, biscuits, etc)

I actually just can't allow myself to buy them anymore except very occasionally as a treat as I know I can't be trusted.

What really does it for you?

Mine is crisps too - specifically, big sharing packs of cheese and onion or cheese and chilli jam (damn you Asda for discontinuing my favourites!).

I just can't stop. I literally can't remember the last time I had a share bag and didn't finish it Blush

High carb and high fat food triggers a massive release of dopamine. It’s nothing to do with self control, they’re addictive foods.

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 21/06/2020 20:31

Biscoff spread.

Makegoodchoices · 21/06/2020 20:33

Cadbury Wholenut. Or Buttons.
Or tiger bread.

reinacorriendo · 21/06/2020 20:35

Cadbury’s marvellous creations popping candy....it’s the absolute devil or Mexicana cheese

ItWorriesMeThisKindofThing · 21/06/2020 20:36

Certain types of bread, mainly. Luckily quite easy to avoid buying it as the rest of my family don’t eat much bread at all.

thatcarolebaskinbitch · 21/06/2020 20:36

Chocolate digestives

Hedgehogblues · 21/06/2020 20:37

Pasta

Wallabyone · 21/06/2020 20:38

Yes, nice bread here-I especially love sourdough, or walnut and raisin, throw butter into the mix and that's it.

Egghead68 · 21/06/2020 20:38

Icecream with bits in, salted nuts, creamy desserts. chocolate, sweets. I am a lost cause. I tried not to have them in the house during lockdown but it just made me miserable.

fortysomething78 · 21/06/2020 20:39

Ooh @terrorwig cheese and chilli jam sounds lush, I must of missed these.
Mine is Sensations Balsamic Vinegar.
I've ate a bag tonight and feel disgusted with myself but it's like an addiction.

SweepingSortofGal · 21/06/2020 20:39

Bread. I can't buy it. I eat a whole loaf in one sitting.

backseatcookers · 21/06/2020 20:39

Cheddar. I fucking love cheddar. Too easy to keep going back to the fridge to cut another wedge or ten.

Hoohaahoo · 21/06/2020 20:40

Cookie dough. I’m not even a massive sweet eater but there is something about the texture of cookie dough that I just can’t get enough of.

Mamette · 21/06/2020 20:41

Yellow m&ms, I have to eat all of them.

BearSoFair · 21/06/2020 20:42

Salt and vinegar Pringles. Especially when you get a really strong tube that make your tongue feel funny. I've had to stop buying them, especially now I'm at home all the time!

AgeLikeWine · 21/06/2020 20:45

Bread. Give me a freshly baked sourdough loaf and a pack of Lurpak, and I could quite easily demolish the lot and come back for more.

picklemewalnuts · 21/06/2020 20:46

Crisps and chocolate. And possibly homemade bread and butter, though not to such an extent.

Impatientwino · 21/06/2020 20:49

Crisps
Chocolate coated pretzels
Homemade bread and butter

Omg!!! Yes.
Blueuggboots · 21/06/2020 20:55

French bread with pate and caramelised onion chutney.
Baked Camembert.

missmouse101 · 21/06/2020 20:56

Philadelphia with rosemary thins to dip into it. Whole tub, no problem at all.

fairyfingers · 21/06/2020 21:00

Bread triggers me to eat more full stop. Not just more bread but anything.

Plain white boiled rice especially if a sticky type.

So sophisticated me

Fallenbehind · 21/06/2020 21:22

Tony’s chocolatony chocolate.

And freshly bought bread.

Egghead68 · 21/06/2020 21:23

Cadbury’s marvellous creations popping candy

I cured myself of thus one by eating 4 bars in a few weeks during lockdown.
