How do you store your drinking glasses?

Please help me convince DH that his way of storing wine glasses and tumblers in the cupboard is the wrong way. He puts them upside down whereas I put them upright, the result is a half and half jumble depending on who's emptied the dishwasher but neither of us will concede.
So , how do you store your glasses and what's your reasoning?

I'm with @simonJT how dirty are people's cupboards 😱

Upright but I realised today having some wine for the first time in ages in a dusty glass that it makes more sense to store them upside down!

PorpentiaScamander · 06/06/2020 19:40

Right way up.

Ex used to put them all upside down. Nearly all my mugs are now chipped on the bottom somehow. But they weren't before he moved in and haven't chipped any since he left so I can only conclude it was something to do with that.

I go through most of my "everyday" glasses and mugs every 2 or 3 days so I store them whichever way they fit best which is usually rim up. My rarely used stuff it store rim down to stop them getting dusty and harder to accidentally knock over.

Right way up - as I shudder at the thought of not having a squeaky clean glass to drink out of. My cupboard shelves don't get cleaned every week!

Hang a bit here. Can we go back?
Covered by a Pringles/Nutella lid
What? Every individual glass?

Flutes would need baking soda lids or similar !!!

This is turning out to be more complicated and controversial than I thought.

Right way up. They're in a cupboard so aren't going to get very dusty. If they're special ones I don't use often I'd wipe or wash before use regardless of which way up they'd been stored.
Glasses are designed to be stood the right way up, standing them on their rim which is more fragile is odd.

mogtheexcellent · 07/06/2020 09:57

Right way up. Esp for wine glasses as the rims chip easier. Any glasses not used often stay in their boxes in a cupboard. I have a small kitchen.

Glasses: Upright, i havent enough for them for them to get dusty.

Mugs: upright so I can store thinner ones inside others.
