My DS was often mistaken for a girl, even if he was in full on blue mode. We were even asked if we were sure once, as he was too pretty to be a boy Confused

Sleepyquest · 06/06/2020 10:42

My DD has that top so girl

Hushabyelullabye · 06/06/2020 17:19

Girl

LocalDuck · 06/06/2020 17:26

Blimey. My daughter got called a boy even when dressed in a pink and white spotty dress with bows.

Atthebottomofthegarden · 06/06/2020 17:27

Girl.

DD was always called a boy when we were out, regardless of what she was wearing. I think it was because she had very little hair...

As someone who cheerfully put a male baby in a dress I don't think you can tell by looking.

meganorks · 06/06/2020 17:30

People always refered yo my dd as a boy when a baby. I think basically if she was wearing trousers and not head to toe pink, the lack of hair made people default to boy. Sometimes it would happen when she was in outfits covered in flowers! It never really bothered me though

roxanne119 · 06/06/2020 17:31

Whilst it shouldn’t matter what you choose to dress the little one in the top has a frilly edge to the cuff and waist so having worked in retail I would say girl🤷🏼‍♀️

RedBear88 · 06/06/2020 17:37

Boy

Makerlady · 06/06/2020 17:38

I would say the clothing is unisex.

Debbue · 06/06/2020 17:46

Hi I'd say girl but easily be used for a boy too 😊

clarehhh · 06/06/2020 17:50

It was all about the hair with my lot. DD1 had blonde curls and was never mistaken for a boy, even in dungarees and dark jumper. DD2, very dark straight hair, was called he even when wearing frills and pastels. DS was dark too, always recognised as a boy, even in his sisters’ more girly cast-offs.

The only one of my five DGS to be (constantly) identified as a girl is the one with the blonde curls. He’s 3 now and it’s still happening. We don’t even bother correcting folk. Smile

I'd put either gender in that outfit. It looks soft and comfortable..........but let's face it..all babies look like potatoes with ears so it doesn't really matter 😂😂😂

Everlandia · 06/06/2020 18:00

Clothing is largely neutral colour wise but the frilled edge would make me think girl. I used to get this all the time with my daughter if I put her in a pale green tracksuit even if it was clearly lined and edged with pink. Some people are just weird that way! If I was unsure, I’d refer to the ‘little one’ and wait for a cue from the parent before ramming my foot in my mouth though, but that’s just me Grin

TimeWastingButFun · 06/06/2020 18:02

My son had like that. It could be either!

Wilkie1956mog · 06/06/2020 18:12

Boy.

Justajot · 06/06/2020 18:14

Even dressed top to toe in pink, my DD1 would still be called a boy as a baby. Most of the time she wasn't dressed in pink. I used to find it funny because people would ask "what's his name" and really squirm when I said "Martha".

I think it was her lack of hair. She's now got lots of hair and there's no ambiguity.
