Just been on the "something has just moved in my stomach" thread and it opened where I had last read up to and the post was in grey.
Yes after all these years on mumsnet I have found the bookmark feature...........
Feel so stupid but like that makes sense really.
Please tell me im not the only one.

you can simply bookmark the last post you read. It doesn't have to be a random one in the middle

True. But then every time I read more of a thread I have to bookmark where I get to again. It's just an annoyance that I have to keep doing it rather than being able to correct it.

I only really return to threads if I've commented on them so the threads I'm on feature shows me where comments since I commented start from. Bookmarking doesn't help me out. Just seems a bit of a half-developed feature that you can bookmark but not unbookmark.

Another one that didn't know that! I use my laptop and didn't realize that popped up. Thanks to this thread I now do.

Thankyou, merry but nothing happens when I hover my cursor anywhere. I'm either missing something or my laptop's a bit behind the times

About the showing posts, do you have them coloured? I did it years ago, can't quite remember how now, it's maybe in settings or something, you can colour the OP and your own in different colours. Is that any good?

It's only me who keeps hitting it by accident when I scroll then...

Once you have clicked on the "bookmark" you have "saved" where you are up to on the thread.

Do you use a laptop? You can see the words change as you click

TerrapinS, thanks. I use an iPad and am used to saving, I thought bookmark must be totally different.

I use Safari and it’s just a bookmark button you press once. Super easy and bern there a long time.

How do you use MN? I think it's extremely unlikely that you have a version just for you that doesn't have the bookmark function, could be wrong but why would that be?

App? Website? Mobile version?

I hate it! I keep hitting it accidentally and you can't undo it. There's a thread in site stuff asking for the option tounbookmark that's got nowhere.

You can turn it off in Customise

You need to hover over the bottom right hand corner of a post and the bookmark option will appear, a blue box for you to click on

I've tried that, nothing happens.

What happens @timelymanor if you wiggle your mouse near the bottom of a post, this is what I see

.. and you have to "hover" in a slightly different place if there is a photo attached to the post

You can unbookmark in the app for iPhone
