Just been on the "something has just moved in my stomach" thread and it opened where I had last read up to and the post was in grey.
Yes after all these years on mumsnet I have found the bookmark feature...........
Feel so stupid but like that makes sense really.
Please tell me im not the only one.

I’m on iPad, just touch the text of any post, you should see Bookmark appear to the lower right of the same individual post.

I hate it! I keep hitting it accidentally and you can't undo it. There's a thread in site stuff asking for the option tounbookmark that's got nowhere.

To make you feel better about your dimwittery - I had been at my current place of work, where the new rota for forthcoming weeks is pinned to a board, for nearly two years before I realised that they put us up in alphabetical order.

To be fair, you are rota'd on with different people every day, so my name was travelling up and down the lists depending on the surname of the people I was on with, but it took me far far longer than it should have to realise why....

Exactly what I said. Plenty of people want the ability to undo a bookmark.

But I don't want any bookmarks. Your suggestion was MNHQ's suggestion in the thread about it in Site Stuff. I just want the button to be an on/off toggle. Not one way only. Bookmarking the first post just means I'll always get taken back to the beginning which is no less annoying than being taken to a random post in the middle I never meant to bookmark.

@TimelyManor you hover the cursor over the bottom of the post. A blue button will appear at the bottom right.

Yes, I know there's nothing there to suggest it. (I have been wishing there was a bookmark for years).

Anyone able to tell me how (on a laptop) I bring up "show OP's posts" or "show my posts"?

Grief! I'm pretty sure I've been using the Bookmark function the entire time I've been on MN - around ten years.

How on earth do you navigate a long thread without it?

And are you the same people who don't have your own and the OP's posts highlighted in different colours?

On my phone app you swipe the last post left and the option to bookmark comes up there, along with the option to report.

Fair enough about wanting an on/off toggle, but as someone else said, you can simply bookmark the last post you read. It doesn't have to be a random one in the middle.
