What talent do you really wish you had?

I would really, REALLY love to be able to sing. I wail along to songs on the radio and would love to actually sound amazing whilst doing so.

I don't have an awful voice (school choirs/shows etc) but just not good enough to get lead parts or have any wow factor. Would also love to do karaoke but knowing I'm not a great singer I wouldn't have the confidence.

What talent would you really have loved but didn't get?

I'd love to be able to sing too.
I have a recurring dream where I can sing amazingly. It's one of my favourite dreams. Then I wake up and I'm back to being crap.

Like the OP and many others I would love to be able to sing well, dance with real style and rhythm, draw, be more of a natural when it comes to musical instruments. I got to a decent level in piano and violin but was never that great..like someone else said, kind of mediocre at most things. I'm quite good with languages..not necessarily fluency but picking up grammar rules and also pronunciation. Overall I think I'd love to have a more creative mind. It's a bit vague but I've always felt like someone who is not creative and it bothers me..

Singing above all else!

I can vaguely carry a tune, so I'm not awful, but I'm a total show off and would love to be able to sing properly. Plus I have quite a few musician pals and they would put me on their records if I could sing. Wahhhh Sad

A beaut singing voice
Would so love that

TheYellowOfTheEgg · 30/05/2020 00:48

Singing for me too. I was kicked out of a primary school choir! I only joined, because my friend wanted to join. We were both kicked out for not being able to sing. Looking back it was a bit harsh kicking out a couple of ten year olds.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 30/05/2020 00:55

To play piano really well, to be able to play by ear and to be able to learn pieces off by heart without needing the written music in front of me.

Lifeaback · 30/05/2020 00:57

I would also love to sing, and I’d love to be able to do accents as well as Jodie Comer in Killing Eve! I read somewhere once that the two are linked and good singers are often good at accents too. I am awful at both

Ice skate. I want to be an amazing ice skater.

Would also love to paint/draw amazing pictures.

Many of the things mentioned on this thread, eg musical instruments and languages are skills which can be learned. They do not require special or unusual abilities, but they do require work application and persistence.

Singing is different. It’s a natural talent and you’ve either got it or you haven’t. I haven’t, and I wish I had. The humiliation of being kicked out of the school choir still stings. If you really can’t sing in tune, or just can’t sing at all, no amount of work or teaching will make you sound good.

KingSheathBelle · 30/05/2020 01:25

I wish I could act, but never had the self confidence to pursue.

HappydaysArehere · 30/05/2020 01:30

I would love to be able to write a really good novel.

Strokethefurrywall · 30/05/2020 01:35

I can sing. Like professional musician, can hit any pitch, sing. Went to music college, am in a band, stand up and can stop people in their tracks. I'm not modest about it clearly, I thank the lord every day that I have a voice that can do what it does, I know how damn lucky I am.

But when my sister bakes cakes, oh man, wow!!! She is a show stopper, her cakes are absolutely amazing! And her art. Now to be able to draw, I never had that talent. I'd love to be able to sketch whatever was in my minds eye.

People who are born with that talent inside them are born lucky, I was, my brother was and my sister is.

I'd love to be able to bake cakes like my sister can, or pick up any instrument like my brother could. It's an amazing gift.

LunaTheCat · 30/05/2020 01:44

A naturally gifted musician- work hard at flute but every improvement is so hard won.

LetGoOfTheLittleDistractions · 30/05/2020 01:45

I'd be grateful for any talent.

Languages

I'm just terrible

AnneBoleynsHead · 30/05/2020 17:44

Pickles89 Ha, no - the Tudors are far too modern for me.
I want to see my local area in pre Roman times (lots of evidence of settlements).

Spied · 30/05/2020 17:47

I'd like to be more flexible. I've never done a front roll or a cartwheel in my life. It's just impossible.
I'd also love to be able to swim.

Mummyshark2018 · 30/05/2020 17:59

Play a guitar

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/05/2020 18:27

Size up a parking space and just go for it . Not dithering, checking, making sure there's enough room.

Just look and think "There's lines, the car next to it is the same size as mine . Go"

Pippapotomus · 30/05/2020 22:02

I would love to be able to dance. Not to a professional level or anything, just well enough to not look like Mr Bean dancing.

I remember when I was little me and my sister went to a dance lesson. My sister cried the whole time, so we didn't go back.

I want to be one of the people at weddings dancing.
