Bank Holiday Monday Plans?

BrandyandBabycham · 24/05/2020 18:33

It doesn’t really feel like a Bank Holiday weekend with everything that’s going on but we’ll still try to do something nice. It’s our wedding anniversary tomorrow too. We were going to have steak for tea but are having that tonight instead as we got up late so DH didn’t have time to make the slow cooker dish we’d planned. Reluctant to hit the beach as keep hearing horror stories of massive crowds with many not social distancing plus people using the sand as a toilet 🤮 Also we’re advised not to swim as there are no lifeguards, although actually some beaches we go to never have them anyway.

Just a nice walk in the park and a peaceful day at home.
I would not fancy the coast with the issues with social distancing right now .

Pavlova31 · 24/05/2020 21:04

I hope you have a nice Anniversary OpWine

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 24/05/2020 21:08

Ah have a nice anniversary OP.
We’re having DSD over, her and DP will be going for a walk in the local valley, they’ve not had any one to one time since lockdown and desperately need to just be together for a few hours.
I’ll be painting DS’s mud kitchen for his birthday next month, drinking cups of tea and enjoying a little bit of alone time.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/05/2020 21:12

I thought I might drive up to Durham.

Bloodybridget · 24/05/2020 21:17

We're going to walk a couple of miles to meet DP's DS in a park for a chat. We'll take a flask of coffee and a picnic rug.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 24/05/2020 21:20

Gardening, family walk, DH will bike ride, and jerk chicken for dinner.

Pretty much the same as every Saturday/Sunday/Bank Holiday since 23/03. Thank God the weather has been brilliant.

Serendipper · 24/05/2020 21:22

I’ll just stay in I think, for a change ...

AnyFucker · 24/05/2020 21:22

Barnard Castle is nice at this time of year. Seeing the Bluebell Woods before they die back is a must.

ClassicCola · 24/05/2020 21:25

I hear Durham is lovely for a day trip. Not sure where you are OP but if its only a few hours drive.

BikeRunSki · 24/05/2020 21:35

Might get up as late as I possibly can before feeding my dc the sane meals they’ve had 490 times in the last 10 weeks. Then we’ll flop around and watch Horrible Histories in iPlayer again. Then we’ll go for a walk, maybe a bike ride. At some point the dc will FaceTime my mum and go to bed, then DH and I will in a futile attempt to sleep, before doing it all again the next day, except this week the dc won’t even have schoolwork to distract them, whilst DH tries to keep his business (and 60 people’s livelihoods) in business and I try a keep my job.

Can you tell my massively fed up?

Campervan69 · 24/05/2020 21:37

We are planning a late afternoon beach trip but we have our campervan so are completely self-sufficient. Will drive to a part of the coast where there are few people and have a barbecue and watch the sun go down. Such a shame we are not able to spend the night yet really looking forward to campsites reopening.

dementedma · 24/05/2020 21:44

Nothing. Same as today. Same as every other day.

SoMuchToBits · 24/05/2020 21:48

Working all day. HCA in NHS hospital...

VoteForPayton · 24/05/2020 21:50

We're going to Nostell Priory (National Trust), they've opened about 10 car parks across the country and you have to book in for a parking space. You can spend as much time in the parklands as you like, but if you arrive late for your allotted parking time you'll lose the space. My kids are BEYOND excited (and so am I).

AdoptedBumpkin · 24/05/2020 21:52

Will be a dull day for us. DP will probably be on his laptop as with a normal Monday.

custodiandiscount · 24/05/2020 22:01

I'll do what I fancy, apparently it's OK now. Boris said.

MissMooMoo · 24/05/2020 22:02

It's ds 3rd Birthday so we will be celebrating that. He has been talking about a party with his friends for about 6 months. I hope we eventually will be able to have a party for him.

BikeRunSki · 24/05/2020 22:06

@VoteForPayton, very envious that you manage to book a parking space! They went very quickly !!

Irnbroothenoo · 24/05/2020 22:06

Well if you drive to Durham you are fine so what’s the problem? No rules broken.

Shallow07 · 24/05/2020 22:06

Happy anniversary OP Flowers

I'm having a lie in tomorrow as it's my turn. Once I get up, food shopping and finishing off the massive pile of washing We'll be going for a walk with the baby as she gets grumpy staying indoors all the time and will pack a picnic. After that, fantasy online shopping for all the stuff I need to buy for our new house (if our offer is actually accepted Wink)

ssd · 24/05/2020 22:12

Have a nice anniversary op.

Spanielmadness · 24/05/2020 22:12

Off to collect my new (second hand) blue convertible mini, then a long walk with the mad dog! I’ve been driving around in an old man Volvo for a long time now and so excited to have a fabulous car again!

Rockbird · 24/05/2020 22:16

I think I'll skulk in the bedroom as I have done for 9 weeks or so because every other room in the house has someone in it! DH will work or work on his hobby, which is also now on a laptop. The dds will fight or watch their iPads. They might venture into the paddling pool and bring all the water back in the house.

Also pissed off.

EnlightenedOwl · 24/05/2020 22:24

Bank Holiday is just another day. Just same old. Bed most of day probably. Might do some work.

sHREDDIES19 · 24/05/2020 22:25

We’re having a socially distant cul-de-sac street gathering with games, separate food/picnics and chats in the sunshine planned. Blessed to have fab and fun neighbours through this lockdown.
