Ginfordinner · 23/05/2020 19:44

Why @Jasmineben and @Bl3ss3dm0m?

What makes you think that desperate and vulnerable women have to have babies they desperately don't want? Hmm

Would you look after the unplanned and unwanted babies for 18 years for them?

Fosler · 23/05/2020 19:50

Yes. Absolutely.

EllenRipley · 23/05/2020 19:51

Can anyone say why they believe a group should be able to protest within touching distance of women within reach who are entering or leaving a medical centre?

Let’s be clear about the type of protesting. It’s standing blocking the way in and out forcing women to push through a hostile group. It’s calling women who are accessing medical care murderers, it’s showing often doctored images of foetuses. It’s aimed at every woman who is accessing the premises whether they are medical staff, cleaners, visitors, supporters or patients. The patients each have their own reasons for being there, from choice, personal necessity to medical need.

If you believe that these protests should be allowed you are advocated for the harassment of grieving women who are having a medically required termination of a much wanted baby. Why?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 23/05/2020 20:24

I object to the idea that it’s a right to protest- a protest has to have some grounds. no one has the right to object to someone’s choices that have zero impact on anyone else.
Imagine if people protested outside a registry office during a same sex marriage- there would rightly be an uproar- but I guess it’s easier for people to be allowed to attack women.

ivfgottostaypositive · 23/05/2020 20:28

Yes - they don't know why every woman is there

I know someone who had to go to one such clinic for a termination for medical reasons as the baby wouldn't survive full term and the NHS couldn't do it due to corona virus

whataballbag · 23/05/2020 20:29

Absolutely

It doesn't matter why anyone is there. Whether it's to have a pregnancy terminated, to get contraception or to repair the plumbing.

Women should be able to go about their lawful healthcare without being harassed and intimidated.

It's not a 'protest'. Protesting would involve lobbying MPs and parliamentary pressure groups to change the law. It's sexist harassment and intimidation and, as the churches involved won't stop voluntarily, should be legislated against.

I do think this scenario is different. These protestors believe they are protecting the life of an unborn baby so they wouldn’t say the choices of the woman have zero impact on anyone else.

But I still don’t think the protestors should be allowed outside of the clinics. It’s quite unbelievable that it’s allowed.

emmaluggs · 23/05/2020 20:42

Definitely the ones that sit outside one near me are always old men 🙄. Why should they shame women who have normally made one the hardest decisions of their lives

LuxLuxLux84 · 23/05/2020 20:44

Yes

ilikebears · 23/05/2020 20:47

StripeyDeckchair · 23/05/2020 20:58

spotlighton · 23/05/2020 21:00

Yes, vile people. I would ban.

MusicToMyEars800 · 23/05/2020 21:02

Yes!! There are a group that stand outside one of the clinics which isn’t far from where I live, it just makes me sick! They need to find something better to do with their time instead of being judgemental twats.

AnxiousElephant77 · 23/05/2020 21:02

Yes

bloodyhellsbellsx · 23/05/2020 21:06

I’ve never seen this type of protest, but surely the police should intervene if it’s preventing women accessing medical treatment?!

TotorosFurryBehind · 23/05/2020 21:16

Yes.

People who harrass vulnerable women in this way are evil.
