It’s a nice warm evening and I’d planned on a curry but don’t fancy it now. Have a fairly full fridge and cupboard so looking for inspiration really!

Lamb & aubergine tagine - from the freezer.

Batch cooking is so worth it on days like this, having had cheese & ham salad for lunch, didn't fancy another 'summer' meal!

Sausages, asparagus and new potatoes all on the bbq. It's about a million degrees in my kitchen today, we need to get some kind of blind fitted. I have to wear sunglasses to prep food in the early evening.

We're having a bavette steak with a South West Rub done on the barbie, with chipped and fried new potatoes, corn on cob and salad.

And wine. . .

Rump steak cooked on the bbq, rosemary & garlic potatoes with mushrooms and peas.....yummmmmy

Sausage, egg and chips! Its something we rarely have but I had been looking forward to it all day. But now I can smell a barbecue I've changed my mind!

Got loads off mushrooms that need using up so a mushroom stroganoff
I so want salmon now tho 😢

Gnocchi with pesto and some added cherry tomatoes and more chopped basil.

Pan fried salmon(chilli powder and salt), basic dal with red lentils and plain rice

Oh and oven roasted aubergine chunks with salt, soya sauce and chilli powder (they are a dream!) 😋😋

For greens we sometimes have plain spinach

some inspiration found from above.
potato salad, last nights oven roast veg and halloumi grilled.

Lamb kofta skewers (from the butcher), Greek Salad, pitta bread and dips (not homemade 😊).

I worked overseas for years and my lovely mum would always do me sausage, egg and chip pan chips the first night I was home.
Still my favourite tea.

Shepard’s pie 😭😭😭 had to cook some mince that was going out of date so made a lasagne yesterday and today in this lovely hot weather we’ll be having a nice, cosy, warming Shepard’s pie!

So many great ideas! Am so missing the bbq!

I was going to make a quiche but don't have a lot to go with it so tonight's it's lamb and halloumi meatballs from two chubby cubs cookbook. Tomorrow I'll get some top up bits from the supermarket and have ham and egg quiche with new potatoes and salad

We are having pesto pasta, asparagus, broccoli and garlic bread.

Home made king prawn massaman curry with steamed jasmine rice. Then home made raspberry ripple ice cream for pud.

DH just lit the BBQ so bacon cheeseburger to start and then whatever else we fancy. He has bought naice burgers and sausages, beef steaks, pork loin steaks and chicken wings 🥓🥩🍗🍔

Oh and the temperature in our garden is 39c 🙀

Hotdogs, onion rings, chips and coleslaw... feels like a Friday!

Roast dinner. I know I'm mad in this weather, but I fancied one and it was bloody lovely

Dc are having burgers on rolls with wedges and onion rings. Just waiting for ds to come and cook them (it's ok, he's 18 not 5!).

I'm not really fancying it (I eat very little red meat) and so dh is making his tuna pasta for us. I shall pinch some of dcs onion rings!

Just made coconut rice (for the first time) with chicken breasts, broccoli, diced carrots and peas, all mixed together. I'm veggie but tasted the rice and thought it was delicious. ALL the children moaned and complained about it. Waiting to hear DH's verdict when he gets in from work.
