Been up all night no real worries just couldn’t sleep so sat downstairs til OH gets up for work. Obviously feeling hungry so I’ve just eaten 2 pieces white toast and marmite, I’m on a diet and have forgotten how tasty it is and I want some more! Don’t really know why I’m posting but just to remind you all how absolutely lush it is. It was my go to food post nights too .

Have you tried the Marmite peanut butter? Oh my days. I’ve had to stop buying it as I couldn’t stop eating it straight from the jar Blush

Powerplant · 20/05/2020 05:51

I’ll add that to my shopping list it sounds really tempting. I had to stop buying marmite crisps as I just ate one bag after another😳

Add Marmite cashew nuts to your list too!

GinisLife · 20/05/2020 06:13

We've just discovered marmite butter. Somehow nicer than butter with marmite on top. I'm currently on butter marmite and dairylea spreadable cheese on crumpets

Deathraystare · 20/05/2020 08:24

Add Marmite cashew nuts to your list too!

Oooooh yes!

Diamondpickaxe · 20/05/2020 08:33

Marmite with pasta is my go to food, so deliciously moreish!

TweetUsOnFacebook · 20/05/2020 08:49

Marmite on white toast is my downfall. Dh was in charge of shopping last week and got two loaves of Warburton's thick toasty bread. He's totally ruined my half ass attempt at a 'slowly coming out of lockdown' diet.

cremuel · 20/05/2020 08:52

I’m trying to lose weight, and marmite rice cakes are my saviour. 28cal per rice cake. Also love marmite biscuits.

cremuel · 20/05/2020 08:54

Also, sometimes if I need a treat and am trying to keep calories low, I just stick my finger straight in the marmite jar. Yum.

Powerplant · 20/05/2020 10:02

We’ve been eating brown bread forever which I really like but there’s nothing like white bread for toast. Going shopping Friday so I’ll definitely look out for the recommendations thanks

Marmite lover here! Currently addicted to Marmite soft cheese (like full fat philadelphia) from M&S 👍

newtb · 20/05/2020 10:17

Jar? Amateurs, you need the large plastic tubs

sueelleker · 20/05/2020 10:21

I found that yesterday-it's lovely, isn't it?

vampirethriller · 20/05/2020 10:25

I love Marmite on a cheese and cucumber sandwich.

Powerplant · 20/05/2020 10:52

My list is getting longer 😊

@ZooeyS that's exactly what I came on to say (although we just spread layer peanut butter over Marmite breather than buy it ready made). Also good with cashew nut butter.

Peasweet · 20/05/2020 10:58

Marmite soldiers with dippy eggs... you're welcome.. Grin

FerneGreene · 20/05/2020 10:58

Ooh, and slightly weird one from my childhood: lettuce and Marmite sandwiches. Butterhead/little gem or other mild, refreshing lettuce combines really well with the strong Marmite. Mmm

FerneGreene · 20/05/2020 11:01

And another! Egg and Marmite! It's basically eggy bread, but you spread the bread with Marmite before soaking in the egg mixture and frying. Yummy.

(Can you tell I was raised veggie and my parents went overboard to ensure I got enough b vitamins? 😂)

Jellybott · 20/05/2020 11:01

I'm currently expecting, and must have eaten my own body weight in marmite on toast throughout this pregnancy. One concoction I can't recommend enough is marmite and dairylea triangles on toast (discovered during the 1st trimester 'only beige food will do' phase)

Powerplant · 21/05/2020 13:42

I forgot about marmite rice cakes and eggy bread with marmite is a new one for me. Going shopping tomorrow all things Marmite😊

Has anyone bought a slightly softer jar of Marmite recently I got one about two weeks ago but only opened it yesterday it's still thick but is almost like it has been warmed up a little bit, I double check the label to see if they brought out a new one but no it's still the original
Marmite on seeded Tesco's bread toasted every single morning.
Lunch today was Marmite on toast with a couple of poached eggs.
Snack was Marmite flatbreads with Marmite cheese
Tea will be bacon pasta and tomato with a good large spoonful of Marmite mixed in.

Does anybody know if we can buy shares in Marmite ??? Shock

AlCalavicci · 21/05/2020 18:28

Oh I forgot supper that will be Marmite peanut butter on toast

AlCalavicci · 21/05/2020 18:34
