Can I have a smear test

I'm 8 months overdue a smear test, my doctors phone has been permanently engaged.
I've got other issues with my lady area that I'm worried out.

Can I get a smear test done during this coronovivous time?

I had mine done on Friday. was due April and got cancelled.
phoned up about two weeks ago and they said they would put me on a waiting list (they should have put me straight on it after it was cancelled really without having to phone) and said if I hadn't heard anything in 4 months to get in touch. However they got in touch last Thursday and booked me in for the next day.
they did say they were prioritising people who were Experiencing symptoms, people who were 12 months overdue and people who not getting it done was causing them too much anxiety in their daily lives.
not sure why I got seen so quick as they said there was a massive waiting list, I did sound pretty desperate on the phone and upset so maybe it 'helped'
just so glad it's over and done with for 3 years.

your best shot is probably to pay to go privately.

I looked into this, but they say the labs won’t be processing samples.
