No. 50s

Realised while at home that I don’t like eating out that much. Would be happy to continue with takeaways

LizzieLoafer · 18/05/2020 15:23

Yes can't wait!!

We were in our favourite restaurant just before lockdown. It was sad as all the staff were whispering in groups, they had just been told they were closing that night. We were their last customers.

We'll be front of the queue when they reopen.

Bbq1 · 18/05/2020 16:16

I suppose it's obvious really, but are those in the No camp saying no because they're scared that they will catch the virus or are there other reasons too??

1forsorrow · 18/05/2020 16:19

Yes, late 60s.

BeltaneBride · 18/05/2020 16:23

AgeLikeWine · 18/05/2020 16:25

I’m very sorry to say no, I won’t be eating in a restaurant again for a long time. I understand the problems the hospitality industry is facing as I too am furloughed from my job in aviation, an industry which has also been decimated by covid.

I am in a high risk group due to asthma, so I will be remaining ultra-careful about any form of unnecessary social contact for the foreseeable future.

AgeLikeWine · 18/05/2020 16:26

Contd...My age is early 50s.

Purpleartichoke · 18/05/2020 16:26

Iamalltheyhavenow · 18/05/2020 16:27

Definitely- I have a rota ready! Early sixties

JessicaDay · 18/05/2020 16:28

@Bbq1 I just don’t think it will as enjoyable an experience with all the protective measures that will be put in place. Going out to eat for me is about relaxing and being sociable as well as the food.

It’ll be difficult to switch off with social distancing/protective screens/menus sent to phones via QR card/one way systems etc. It’ll be too stilted and regimented to be much fun.

HelloDulling · 18/05/2020 16:33

God, yes. I eat out at least 2-3 times a week usually. Can’t wait. (I’m 43).

Frankiefree · 18/05/2020 16:44

Yes. But I’ve had the virus so less worried about catching it.

HoldMyLobster · 18/05/2020 16:45

They do try to limit contact, e.g. no more menus, you either get a paper menu that is thrown away after or you can look up their menu online.

I keep reading this as 'a paper menu that is thrown at you' Grin
