Planning a seaside trip, was thinking day trip, but I’ve seen on booking.com many hotels available to book next week
So has that been lifted as well now ?

As PPs have said, even if you go for the day, how do you plan to go to the toilet?

Sparklingbrook · 18/05/2020 13:05

OP you don’t seem to have understood any of the guidelines at all about any of this. Perhaps reread them. they are not confusing.
I don’t think you are understanding any of the thread replies either.

Lardlizard · 18/05/2020 13:07

So much misinformation out there, even people saying on this thread you can’t sit on the beach when you can !

I love visiting the seaside, but live at least a couple of hour's drive away from the nearest beach and therefore don't often see the sea more than once a year. So why is it so difficult for some people to stay away, especially when they have been told not to go?

They are behaving like naughty school children.

Sparklingbrook · 18/05/2020 13:09

Read the correct information from a reliable source. Not the newspapers or ransoms on the internet?

From the government website-

1.9 Are day trips and holidays ok? Can people stay in second homes?
Day trips to outdoor open space, in a private vehicle, are permitted. You should practise social distancing from other people outside your household.

Leaving your home - the place you live - to stay at another home for a holiday or other purpose is not allowed. This includes visiting second homes.

Premises such as hotels and bed and breakfasts will remain closed, except where providing accommodation for specific reasons set out in law, such as for critical workers where required for a reason relating to their work.

Lardlizard · 18/05/2020 13:13

can easily hold it in for well over 8 hours
Anyway so what if you do a wee in the sea when swimming
It ends up in the sea anyway

So much misinformation out there, even people saying on this thread you can’t sit on the beach when you can !

Someone saying that there are some beaches which are too busy to allow this with proper distancing isn't misinformation.

Go and have a nice day out, just make sure you don't choose the same place as loads of others so that you can park and then enjoy your day.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/05/2020 13:17

are the toilets in service stations on the Motorway open

From what I've read, some are and some aren't so check the websites of the ones on your route.

Figgygal · 18/05/2020 13:21

It’s not confusing you just don’t like the answers
They are still advertising rooms because they are chancers Who want to make money Doesn’t mean you should book them

Lardlizard · 18/05/2020 13:21

“I live in a seaside town and I wouldn't recommend a day trip, its impossible to social distance anywhere near the beach or seafront. You can't sit on the beach and go for a paddle. “

Sorry for shouting but YES YOU CAN!!
Sit on the beach and swim in the sea

I don’t get a thank you for linking the government guidelines I see. Sad

Nicknacky · 18/05/2020 13:28

sparklingbrooks Thanks for posting them. I’m obviously not the op but she wouldn’t bother reading them anyway.

Ginfordinner · 18/05/2020 13:29

can easily hold it in for well over 8 hours

That really isn't healthy

Sparklingbrook · 18/05/2020 13:30

Thanks @Nicknacky hopefully someone will find it useful. Smile

Lardlizard · 18/05/2020 13:34

Almost all motorway and A-road service areas are open, and will continue to be unless they are advised differently by the British and/or Irish governments.

As HGV drivers are categorised as "essential workers", service stations must continue to provide the bare minimum facilities. Those facilities are free toilets, free short-stay parking, a place to buy a snack, and fuel; all available 24 hours a day on the motorway (reduced opening hours on some A-roads).

This post must be a wind-up. Surely you really are not this ignorant?

SpillTheTeaa · 18/05/2020 13:45

If you're still confused then we are fucking doomed. Pray for Britain.

BojoKilledMyMojo · 18/05/2020 13:59

Some hotels are open to accommodate keg workers who need to work away from home.

The general public are not allowed to stay away from home.

Ginfordinner · 18/05/2020 14:29

You are going to do what you want regardless of anyone else aren't you OP?

I bet this weekend will be the first bank holiday weekend where resorts and other nice places are hoping for rain.
