Planning a seaside trip, was thinking day trip, but I’ve seen on booking.com many hotels available to book next week
So has that been lifted as well now ?

OP posts:

@Lardlizard are you being deliberate obtuse? It makes no difference if your dh is a key worker or not. You can only travel to exercise if you come back the same day. You can’t travel to go on an overnight break!

ToothFairyNemesis · 18/05/2020 00:41

*deliberately

LilacTree1 · 18/05/2020 00:48

Is this a thing where they’ll take your money, and if the police turn up asking for proof of why you’re there, you’re stuffed and the hotel have your money?!

Anybody planning a sneaky mini break deserves to be ripped off.

I think the OP is trying to wind people up

OP , i presume, if you get coronaviris through your own stupidity, then you wont put extra pressure on the NHS, by asking for their help?

cabbageking · 18/05/2020 01:23

Yesterday you were wanting to report your neighbour for having a friend visit and sit too close. You saw this through her window and were upset she contravened the rules. Now you want to do the same?

Rebelwithallthecause · 18/05/2020 01:25

Oh wow, it’s the same person from that thread?!

Rebelwithallthecause · 18/05/2020 01:26

Also - no Christmas markets or even Christmas shopping?! SadSad

WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo · 18/05/2020 01:33

What do you plan on doing about toilets op ? They're all closed.........you seriously don't want your arse appearing on the front page of the local rag like the woman who decided to take a dump in a lake District car park. No paddle is worth that. 😳

eeehbyegum · 18/05/2020 01:44

@Lardlizard next week no. Maybe in a few weeks.

HarrysMummy17 · 18/05/2020 01:56

I have an Airbnb. Airbnb have blocked out room until the end of the month. If lockdown is extended further they will extend it again. We've been told we can have essential workers stay with proof of their work otherwise we and the guest can be fined

Bowerbird5 · 18/05/2020 02:01

No can’t stay in second homes up here anyway. Police turned some back again today.

How will we ever survive I wonder?

Quite honestly, most of us can cope without holidays and visits for a while if it helps to save lives. I have sympathy for those who are confined in a small place with no garden, especially if they have children and/or health problems but for the rest of us it isn't that difficult. Hopefully by this time next year there will be some normality even if not the same as before. Time passes quickly (even if at the moment it seems to drag).

SpillTheTeaa · 18/05/2020 07:21

Because your husband is a key worker doesn't mean you can break the rules ffs. People like you are the reason we will see a second peak. STAY AT HOME! Have a bit of respect for the residents that live at that seaside town trying to keep their families safe.
By the sounds of it you think you can break the rules but want to report others that do. Practice what you preach.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 18/05/2020 07:28

You are not permitted to stay overnight away from home at the moment for leisure purposes, not even in a tent. It is very clear in the guidelines. Go for the day and return or wait until the government allows hotel stays, probably from July at the earliest. Most people would love a mini break right now but it's time to be responsible.

Footywife · 18/05/2020 08:12

OP....why come on here and ask, if you're going to argue with people and not take advice? You've been told several times that overnight stays aren't allowed.

sansou · 18/05/2020 08:17

My region has a massive Christmas market which has been cancelled this year so that public resources could focus on the CV crisis. They made the decision public at the end of March. I’d imagine that this is replicated across the country.

StoorieHoose · 18/05/2020 08:22

I wasn't going to rise to it but OP do you mean England in your title and not UK? You know England has different rules from the rest of the UK?

Fettfrett · 18/05/2020 08:25

I live in a seaside town and I wouldn't recommend a day trip, its impossible to social distance anywhere near the beach or seafront. You can't sit on the beach and go for a paddle.

LesLavandes · 18/05/2020 08:27

Well said , Spilltheteaa.

Such a selfish and crazy idea. Just stay local to where you live and help save lives.

NameChange84 · 18/05/2020 08:35

I live in an area of outstanding natural beauty. My Local Authority, like many in other AOONB and also in seaside towns are investing money in saying “PLEASE DO NOT VISIT US”. In some towns, Brighton, The Lakes, the police have been stopping motorists and telling them to go home.

Yours is a really fucking selfish mentality.

The government’s current message is not “everyone is free to go on a uk mini break”.

It’ll be people like you who end up putting the UK back into a more stringent lockdown.

Ullupullu · 18/05/2020 08:39

You sound a bit thick OP.

BrieAndChilli · 18/05/2020 08:47

Just take the eased restrictions for what they are and enjoys the things you are now able to do - travel a bit further from your home to have a walk etc. Here in wales we still aren’t allowed to drive anywhere unless it’s shops/medicine etc. I’d love to be able to drive even 15 minutes up the road to romp around the miles and miles of wood rather than the same paths around our village.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 18/05/2020 09:30

You know you’re not allowed to stay overnight somewhere.
