I'm upset that I haven't had more real reasons to break 'the rules'. I am so not a rule follower but I do want to follow the principles of 'staying safe and protecting others'.
My adult son has been using a room in my house as an office for the whole of lockdown. Going to work, wasn't an option and he couldn't work from home due to lack of bandwidth.
I live 5 minutes from him so he has used my spare bedroom and ensuite since then. So technically breaking rules but meh!.
Other than that: I am retired. I have a garden and I can go out to shop and to exercise.
I have not been able to really justify breaking the rules and it pisses me off. However, this week I am going to visit my daughter - who has only been out to shop since lockdown and to sit in the garden with friends ditto - go me.
I am so sorry for everyone whose life has been so disrupted, particularly the youngsters. I was at school in the early 60s when there was a polio outbreak locally. One of my brothers had it, luckily mildly. We were scared but we still went to school and this was a virus which more specifically targeted kids.
I now remember being a bit scared at the time but I haven't even thought about it for 50+ years until now. I bet kids today won't say that as adults. Remember parents and teachers, your kids are not going to forget this; please make sure you don't 'over' protect them.
