Is it just me wide awake?

Nearly 2am. I'm generally an in bed by nine (albeit watching netflix) kind of person but I'm downstairs awake and on the computer.

I think I'm still trying to wind down from the emotionally super charged challenge of getting ds through a 30 question maths assignment he claimed to totally not understand earlier. Maybe.

Is anyone sliding towards being nocturnal in lockdown?

Ha ha yep, just thought that myself. Although I am now tucked up in bed ready to snooze away at some point.

avamiah · 14/05/2020 02:08

Hi
I’m always up till at least 3 am or even 4 am.
But I still wake up at 6.20 am .😩😩😩

Lokikitty · 14/05/2020 02:09

Hi, i'm wide awake. Normally asleep by 10pm but have found myself going to sleep later and later over the past few days.

Dontstepinthecowpat · 14/05/2020 02:09

I’m awake too. I normally sleep okay but DS (12) has been unwell with a headache and sore throat. I’ve just checked and his temp is 40.3 so waiting on that coming down!

GalactiCat · 14/05/2020 02:10

Me! Was in bed at 10. Still wide awake. Stressing as still furloughed and still in lockdown.
Have just started an online form with stepchange for help.
Who needs a diet when a pandemic will do the job. 🙁

rossKemp · 14/05/2020 02:10

I’ve been woken up by period pains Sad

Coronaedout · 14/05/2020 02:13

Me! Fucked off with ExH and worried about money and my wee business. Can’t switch my brain off tonight

avamiah · 14/05/2020 02:13

I am in the hospitality industry and have been for many years.
I’m also a mum to a 10 year old so Life has been slightly challenging recently.
But we are healthy and that’s the main thing.
😬😬😬😬🙁🙁

Yikes - hope he'll be ok!

over 40 degrees is high - think I'd call 111 dontstep - even if they do nothing now it'll be logged in case things get worse?

Coronaedout,
SNAP ,
Tell me about it .

ToffeeYoghurt · 14/05/2020 02:18

I've been a night owl for years. No idea how DP and I manage as he's the opposite.

I think a lot of people's sleep patterns have changed during the pandemic. The change to routine and also the stress.

I rather enjoy being up after everyone else is in bed. I love looking out the window and seeing neighbouring lights go off. I like the time to myself. I've got friends and family abroad with different time zones so it's also a good chance to catch up with them.

But it's not so easy,I know, if you need to be up early the next day. Would a relaxing bath help?

TheHoneyBadger · 14/05/2020 02:21

I don't need to be up it's ok. Just surprised to be awake. Ds has gone nocturnal and keeps coming down going omg you're still up, this isn't like you lol

ToffeeYoghurt · 14/05/2020 02:26

It feels so strange changing sleep patterns. I had to be up early the other day for something. It felt so weird.
Probably how you feel with being up late!

Longlockdown · 14/05/2020 02:29

Yes. Usually I'm early to bed, recently I'm late.
Tonight is a record.
Not good.

avamiah · 14/05/2020 02:35

TheHoneyBadger,
My daughter is the same, she thinks it’s ok to be awake at 1am 😩😩😩, she is usually asleep by 10 pm at the latest and up at 7am for school .
😱

lilmishap · 14/05/2020 02:40

Awake and shattered but not sleepy verge of tears as this is the third night in a row and I'm too old to pull this off anymore

TheHoneyBadger · 14/05/2020 02:44

god knows how we'll reprogram them for school hours avamiah! DS is loving lockdown - having the time of his life lol. Other people are talking about their children's mental health suffering whilst ds is like the cat who got the cream or a reusable get out of jail free card (except when I make him maths).

How's your dc doing don'tstep? 40.1 would scare me and I'm not neurotic when it comes to dc health stuff.

I WOULD be enjoying this alone time but ds is up and in on me and bizarrely now requesting to do more work Confused

Im awake too because I had myself a little 2 hour nap this afternoon.

Ive been in bed since 11 just scrolling trough my phone wide awake. My hand actually hurts from holding my phone for so long.

TheHoneyBadger · 14/05/2020 02:48

Put something on netflix, prop it on the bedside table and watch it always - you'll be asleep in no time x

Shmithecat2 · 14/05/2020 02:51

Me. Fell asleep about 9pm getting ds to sleep. Woke at 11pm, awake ever since. 😣

TheHoneyBadger · 14/05/2020 02:51

how's your tummy ross? Hopefully you've taken painkillers and rolled over and gone back to sleep.

I know if i go back up to bed and lie down I'll be halfway there but I don't feel like it. Tempted to just do an all nighter, push through tomorrow and go to bed early having reset my body clock. I actually have to do that once around this time of year now I think of it - usually around spring equinox but it's may now Confused
