Is it just me wide awake?

Nearly 2am. I'm generally an in bed by nine (albeit watching netflix) kind of person but I'm downstairs awake and on the computer.

I think I'm still trying to wind down from the emotionally super charged challenge of getting ds through a 30 question maths assignment he claimed to totally not understand earlier. Maybe.

Is anyone sliding towards being nocturnal in lockdown?

TheHoneyBadger,
I’ve just watched the 2 series of AfterLife with Ricky Gervais on Netflix’s and i didn’t even like him before watching this .
Now I think he is fabulous.
Xxx

Ds keeps in touch with his friends on the playstation avamiah, they all play and chat to each other at the same time and message and call on phones at other times. Normally they'd be calling for each other and going out on their bikes but they've switched to online so not as healthy obviously still socially connected and no feeling isolated.

I'm a bit of a hermit anyway so the lockdown is probably easier for me than most to be fair and I'm ok (by my standards - even though I apparently live under the poverty line) financially for now.

Maybe late nights is the new me? Can't see it somehow because the cat will be jumping on my head at her usual time in the morning and the dog will need taking out for a wee. All well and good for ds but even without work I have to get out of bed.

Welcome to the wide awake club lifeisconfusing.

It's a great series avamiah imo. I'm not a Ricky Gervais fan as in his comedy and general views but that's an excellent series and he wrote it as well didn't he?

I've poured another glass of port - not sure that will help.

I was watching Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan on prime the last couple of days. Not bad rendition of the books even though I'm not particularly keen on the main actor (but like the guy who plays his boss who was also in Suits and something else I can't bring to mind).

I have watched SO much on netflix and nowtv over the last month and then suddenly the last couple of days I don't feel like watching anything - like I don't feel like sitting still and passively absorbing stuff even though I'm a big fan of sitting still passively compared to most lol. Maybe my need to chill and switch off is finally saturated.

I can't sleep either but just after talking half a Xanax so that should do the job...

TheHoneyBadger · 14/05/2020 03:37

fingers crossed puddy. I swear to god i can hear a strimmer going... surely no one is gardening at this hour?

Grin Went to the window and drew back the curtain to listen better and realised it was the cat snoring on the windowsill. People are strange but no one is strimming at 3.38am

Wide awake to.... Been tossing and turning since probably 2/2.30am 😒

WinWinnieTheWay · 14/05/2020 04:08

Checking in.

My sleep is awful. Every night I'm wide awake for a few hours (3-6 ish). What is going on?

Tomorrow I'm going to go for a brisk long walk in the afternoon and then do some yoga in the evening and see if that makes a difference.

I am very stressed and have some real worries that are without solutions until this virus is vanquished.

StinkyWizzleteets · 14/05/2020 04:22

I still haven’t fallen asleep. Birds are
Bloody tweeting and my 2 year old just pissed the bed for the first time ever. Now he’s awake too. I guess I’m doing the 36 hour run... not done that since my childfree days and then there was usually some fun involved.

mamalicious3030 · 14/05/2020 04:26

I'm up feeding my premature baby. It's my second baby and second preterm baby and we just got home from special care and be waved goodbye to sleep 😭 my other child is 3. How I'm gonna cope when husband and my mum goes back to work next week I don't know 😬

pickledbunions · 14/05/2020 04:29

Wide awake after two bombshells dropped. Stressed too much to sleep.

TheHoneyBadger · 14/05/2020 04:29

Hi winnie.

Me too stinky. Haven't been to bed or even had snooze and it's starting to get light and the birds are starting to cheap and the cat keeps doing an impression of a strimmer and making me wonder where it's coming from.

No toddler pissing beds or needing attention - I'm thankfully a good decade past that stage of affairs and you have my sympathy. No rest for the wicked is a painful expression for the baby and toddler years Grin

Am now thinking I might as well stick the lead on the dog and go out for a walk and see a bit of the sunrise. I could try for the 36 hour run but I'm not convinced I'd make it. Might need a mid morning nap but mustn't let myself sleep all day or I'll be in the same position tomorrow night.

Just managed a proper yawn.

Still awake here, have a click and collect at 9am and thinking it's hardly worth trying to sleep now.

Hope everything is ok pickledbunions.

Chocarocker · 14/05/2020 05:06

Another one wide awake here, haven’t been to sleep yet as DD been up all night crying and a high temperature of 39 (she’s asleep for now but I can’t sleep for worrying).

Dontstepinthecowpat · 14/05/2020 06:17

Sorry I had to put my phone down so the light wouldn’t keep him awake. It came down to 39.6 after I got his duvet off and some water. Gave him some paracetamol he seems to be sleeping lightly at the minute. His brother and sister role at 4.30 so I sent them up to DH and I’m going to stay in spare room with poorly one. Did you get your dog walk? I love a walk at that time to clear the mind!

TheHoneyBadger · 14/05/2020 07:30

Yes we walked the dog and delivered my parents medicines - ds and i and the dog at 4.30am. No sleep going to push on through and try to get back on track tonight.

Glad your son's temp has come down a bit - still pretty high though. Good luck.
